    TRIP REPORT (pg.2) - NSW - Sunny Cnr SF

    Well, after the last trip to Sunny Corner SF turned out to be great fun, I've been wanting to go back and check out some more of the tracks and I reckon next weekend could be the best opportunity before Winter sets in.

    When: Sunday May 23rd

    Meet Shell Service Station, Great Western Hwy, Yetholme 9:00 to 9:30am

    For those that aren't aware Sunny Cnr SF is about 20 minutes East of Bathurst, although the SF is mainly forestry it also backs onto Winburndale Nature Reserve and the whole area is quite hilly and rugged - great 4wding in other words! Check out the last trip report here. Well worth the trip from Sydney

      Possibly interested, pending signed permission slip and leave pass from the minister :-)
      My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.

        Yeh! I'd be keen but Bathurst is a bit far for a day run for us,it would have to be a two day'er, maybe next time.

              Anybody else out there interested in coming along on Sunday?
              The weather's not looking too bad at this stage, could be a bit chilly in the morning, but it should be sunny.

                I'm definately out after tonight events, an 18 year old P-Plater in his Comodore Ute chalenged my Bull bar. He came off 2nd best but I ended up with Bull bar against front tyre and unable to drive. 2 Tow trucks required. Not happy. luckily no injuries to any persons.

                  shit mate that's a bugger. At least no One was hurt! How much more damage would thee of been if you didn't have the bar?

                    I must say I'm surprised how strong the Sovereign bar is. The right hand horizontal pillar between the chassis and the bar (looks like an extension of the chassis) gave way and it pushed the bar back against the head light. The pointy end of the headlight chipped off and the bonnet deformed slightly. Except for some serious surface damage to the bar it kept its shape. It would have been no different with a steel bar.

                      I've been watching this trip with interest, but I am on a club trip with the Canobolas 4WD Club tomorrow to Nangar State Forest tomorrow.

                      I am definitely interested in some trips to Sunny Corner or other local trips in the future (I live up the road at Orange)

                        Sorry to here that Piet, at least no injuries to anyone. What a shame the Boomslang Mobile is now out of action :evil: Let us know when you get it back from the repairers & we'll get out bush again.

                          Yes I look forward meeting up with you again. it is a lot safer through the wombat holes, rivercrossing and whatever the bush can thow at us than in the streets of Sydney

                            Keep an eye on the forum for future trips I'm sure there will be plenty more in the future, or post up when you're free and I'm sure you'll get a few takers for a trip.

                            I've been meaning to check out Nangar SF some day, and, for that matter the Canobolas 4WD club.
