    Sun Jun 13 : NSW - Colo Hts. area

    Must be time for another day trip somewhere; hopefully the recent very wet weather is behind us :!:

    OK folks we are having a day out this Sunday June13th :!:

    Destination: Our usual tracks around the Colo Hts. area. Easy/medium going most of the way with a couple of rough sections (check the previous reports for this area if you want)

    Meeting at:

    Ampol garage, Putty Rd at Colo Heights.

    The Ampol garage is located at Colo Heights which is a 35 minute drive from the bridge at Windsor crossing the Hawkesbury River. You will be on the Putty, or Singleton Rd., heading north, road #69.

    From the bridge at Windsor, you will drive a few k's to the town of Wilberforce. It will be a 60k zone, keep on the main road which veers left, it will be signposted to Singleton

    From here just stay on the main road; you'll go through East Kurrajong & then down to the Colo River, cross the bridge, up the other side where it will be very twisty/windy till you get to the Colo Heights area. Garage is on the right, & it's the only one till Singleton :!: We will be on the right as you come in. You can fuel up here if required & there is a small shop & toilets.

    Im keen have not got the new rig dirty yet
    im free next weekend 12th 13th how about the Watagans??? or where ever.

      I'm so hungry to get out. With a bit of luck I should have my car back from thr repairs by the 27th and with a lot of luck by the 20th of June.

          I've been to the Watagans twice but that was 10 years ago :shock: Can't remember where we went in so maybe...........

          No worries Piet, there's always a trip on somewhere sometime :!: You guys could come as passengers with me if you like; would have to pick you up from your place though unless you have another car & we could meet up halfway somewhere :?:

          I wouldn't mind having another look around Hampton State Forest one day; might go there one day when JeffH is free again. Could always do our usual tracks around Colo Hts which are easy/medium for those who haven't had a lot of 4wdriving experience. Of course good 'ol Newnes State Forest is a favourite too.

          Post up if you're a definite for this Sunday the 13th, I'm free for sure, dependent on weather conditions of course

            Possibly, dependent on leave pass being granted! Will see how I go.
            My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.

              I should be available this Sunday.

              Being a long weekend I reckon there's a good chance we'd be dodging trail bikers all day at Newnes?

              I haven't seen much of Hampton SF, only a bit of the forestry area watching some of the stages of the Rally of Lithgow. Or if there are enough Sydney-siders interested I could always trek over to your side of the mountains for once and we could go to Colo Hts area.

                I'd love to come along again, but I'm tied up Sat/Sun. Monday might be an option, though. I get my ARB bar fitted next Thursday, so it'd be my last nude run

                  Yes I completely forgot it's a long weekend :!: But if you're free Sunday Jeff then we'll make the most of it; I reckon either Hampton SF, which will be more of a recce trip, or our usual powerlines track at Colo Hts for those who haven't been there before. Depends on who wants to come along....

                    Sunday works for me as I'm working on Monday.
                    Either place is good never been Hampton SF ill leave it up to the experts to decide. Being a long weekend there will be more Nissans to recover.
