Fraser Island - Prado VX/KAKADU - 18 inch tyre pressure

I have read threads and all seem to talk about Prado GXL (17inch) tyre pressure - which is to put it down to about 20psi and 16psi for soft sand.
would the same work for 18inch tyre in a KAKADU, given that we have less sidewall to work with ?
What tyre pressure recommonded for 18inch tyre at Fraser Island.

In my new VX I ran 22 psi without issue when I was there in May, obviously different conditions may require lower pressures. Previously in my 90 series (16” tyres) I ran 25 psi in pretty much everywhere on Fraser with the exception being one January visit where it was hot, dry and busy. The soft dry sand was churned badly so dropped another 8 psi to suit conditions, the point is depending on time of year your on Fraser will influence sand conditions, in the winter months the cooler weather & less traffic means the sand is firmer and you can run 20-26 psi without issue most of the time, mid summer (Christmas) conditions usually requires lower pressure once you move above the high tide line and on some of the inland tracks.

Any idea on ground clearance for the track Into Kingfisher Bay Resort. Apperently its really bad and needs more ground cleanrance than typical beach driving.

I was there less than a month ago, the track between Kingfisher Bay and Eurong is in ok shape. The clearance required is no different to the other tracks on the island. I dont have a lift on the Prado and it handled it well.

In saying that, the track from King Fisher bay to just north of Eurong is a lot rougher, and slower going than the main track that leads into Eurong.

Frazer is my favorite get away. I usually run 24 psi .without the use of 4x4 engaged as the prado is an all wheel drive and I usually pick a low tide for the beach .This all save fuel . there are only two points to cross that really need attention with psi and 4x4 engagement. especially in the summers without rain . Ngkala Rocks and Indian heads crossing areas.

The exit from Mckenzie lake also can get a bit soft but the prado is usually very capable to handle most all areas of the island.
