Thanks Ben. 3" and 33's is a good combo in a GQ's. Add a locker and it'll be a treat. Sat/Sun hasn't been decided yet, I'm working with a couple people on that.

Here's a great looking spot we should check out some time in the new year. It could be pretty tough without lockers though.

Is that Airly State Forest? Never heard of it till now. On the first page they reckon a stock GU could do the track, but looking at the pictures on page 8 suggest that might be a bit optimistic.

You will find the Airley State forest out along the Mudgee Rd R/H side beyond Capertee near Running Stream.
The photos in link actually looks alot like a private property by invitation only surrounded by national parks that was recently feature on a recent 4wd action video in the same areaNew 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list

I also suspect that the entrance may be private property, but have yet to confirm.
And yes, we need to visit the Watagans!glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Yes it's on private property owned by Col Ribaux the diamond miner. Have only been there the once in 1999 when I had the Hilux; track was very steep & rough going even back then. Worth the drive though as the view from the top overlooking the Capertee Valley is spectacular.
Found some info on Col & the future of his property here: http://www.cc4wdc.org.au/wp/?p=63Cheers,

Hi Declan,
Happy to put something together for a Watagans trip next year but wont be able to do the trip before mid Feb with Christmas, new on-call roster and a couple of weeks snowboarding in Japan.
I havent been in the Watagans for about 5 years but have found my old maps, so who knows what could happen. I am sure I am not the only person from Central Coast and Newcastle on the forum, so we should be able to organise something and hopefully have some reasonably up to date track conditions.
Day trip or over nighter ?

Yeah there's several other CC members who may know the area too (Travis?). You came to mind as not many in my circle of friends know the Watagans very well.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

Hi Declan,
Came as a shock for me today when I looked at the on-call roster (joys of people leaving), christmas, my holidays and worked out when I get a weekend to go bush again.
Anyway, it will come around pretty quick and we can look at it again then.
