Sounds like a cracker of a trip and definitely interested once I get my new rig (tomorrow). I'll keep an eye out on future trips!

I'd like to go there soon but unfortunately not available this side of Easter. Relaxing/preparing till the GTG. I've read the tracks there can change dramatically with rain so be cautious. Have fun!glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Mate, I'd hate to be the bringer of bad news, but you'd better pack up and go NOW cause Davies Plains is subject to seasonal closures earlier than most other tracks. I believe it starts 1st May.
I just came from there and some tracks are already a bit slippery after the recent rain. Bloody cold too!!!glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Hi Guys
I am planning two or three short trips camping and 4wd exploring during the upcoming school holidays. As follows:-
Monday 30th June to maybe Thursday 3rd July - Turon river
Saturday 5th to Tuesday 8th July - Abercrombie National Park area
Saturday 12th to Tuesday 15th July - Bendethera
Do one or two PP people want to come and enjoy one or more of these. I will have my wife at Turon but just my son (Hilux) at the other two.Mark

Hi Malcolm
Son has his own Hilux - not a Prado but at least it has the right badge in the centre of the nose. Re Turon ... planning to bring the camper via Lithgow, Capertee then set up camp at the Diggings campground on the Turon. Then do day trips e.g. Pinnacle fire trail, leaving wife and camper at the campsite. We have done a couple of trails there - haven't gone as far as Sofala but a possibility (we have topo maps). My Prado is pretty stock but my son has 2 inch lift and a few extra bits so we would plan on easy/medium grade tracks. Family has commitments on the weekend so unfortunately Monday is the start for Turon.
the Bendethera run will be a little more flexible.
We can work out meeting places etc if you are interested
Cheers
