Looking at Google maps I'm guessing Sydney members would take Putty Road for about 100Km from Windsor and leave the tarmac around Howes Valley?

Yes about 100 or so k's from Windsor to Commission Rd at Howes Valley, about 1.5 hours.

I guess it's no big surprise that I won't be on the road for the weekend. Maybe next time... if I'm allowed!

The diff oil came out with gray mush and metal. It should be back on the road mid next week, with some extra traction up front :P - so might need a test drive next weekend.
I also looked into changing ratio's but didn't want to wait for gears from USA (front is a 7.5" reverse cut). Plus the expense isn't really worth it yet, maybe one day if I get 33" tyres.

Okay, who's up for a bash this weekend? Glen? Glenn? (Sorry couldn't resist  )

Newnes? Colo Heights? Sunny Corner/Turon NP?

Sorry mate no bashing for me this weekend. If I get the car back in time I might do a quick test but it'll just be local, I have too much on and am planning for a camp trip the week after. Speaking of which, if anyone would like to camp that weekend (10-14th) there's plenty space where we're heading - on the Turon River, Hill End. There's some water crossings and plenty tracks from soft roading to 4x4 demolition

Went out with ARB to Newnes on Sunday. Picked up a few scratches, flattened the tail pipe, and lost a mud flap. Still tired, need a rest and so does the Boomslang mobile, but need to go to Stockton on Saturday. Catch you next time.

Why are you out with "ARB" anyway?

Sorry not for me this weekend will be up the coast and out for the following as well have our 3 years old birthday with family. Wont be off road for a while as just bought the new 120 so dont have any off road tyres, lift, snorkel NOOOOTHING. Wife has put a hold on the finances till the bank accout starts to look a bit healthier. Will cost me a bit more this time as well as I am buying another set of additional alloy rims to run muddies this time and keep the other rims/tyres for around town. Am going to give it a go at stockton in a few weeks but obviously running the grantreck tyres. Spewing I have missed a few outings with pp, but I am the one that wanted to update to a 120 so have to be patient as we keep telling our 3 year old LOL. Regards Steve

Hi Declan, hows it going mate ?? Normally their is about 4 to 5 vehicles go, all neighbours but the more the merrier so when I organize it i will let people know, no problems with who goes, all for the fun of it. Hanging to see how the 120 petrol goes on the sand. need to organize some recovery points for the front of it, but there seems to be so many different set ups depending on what style of bar people have. So far very impressed with fuel economy. did one trip to Lithgow and back (little hartley farm) then the rest has been running around town and the guage is now sitting between empty and 1/4 closer to empty and done 550k, which is better then the old 90 petrol I had based on the same size tank 90L I only got 600k out of the main tank of the diesel and that was on a long run Halidays Point and back (near Taree) Loooove the extra grunt its got, wont have the hold back on the steep off road tracks like the diesel had but Ill live with that for the extra get up and go. 90's are still a great 4wd just personally think the 120 is a bit more refined and definately feel more stable, on road anyway, will find out off road when the time comes. Regards Steve

I recon the 4.0 V6 will leave the 90 diesel for dead on the sand 8)

Even in stock form it would be okay for some light stuff at Newnes  , I haven't cracked any wishbones yet with my stock suspension.
