  • SEQ Ladies Day

OK, this is just a throw-it-out-there kind of suggestion.

How about a day out where our respective partners do the driving and we males (or vice versa) handle the navigation and cooking duties? I was thinking of something straightforward such as a Bribie Island run - drive up the middle of the island, exit onto the beach and then a BBQ somewhere along the beachfront on the way back. Only because the beach is at least somewhere that a large congregation of vehicles can be accommodated.

Of course, if the general consensus of female opinion is that they'd prefer Mt Mee or Condamine or Stradbroke or wherever, fine, just keep the suggestions coming.

I was thinking October (23rd??), which should be time enough for the 2010 GTG attendees to have made it back, or maybe around Christmas time, turn it into a December meet-and-greet?

    Comments anyone?

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Fozzy

Your'e a legend, we would love to do this but won't be back from our outback trip until the end of October, any time after that and we are in and happy to lend a hand organising.

    Regards, Richo and Gay.

PS: Gay has trophies from from Gymkhanas when we had the modded Suzuki, very competitive.

      Hmmm,

In that case might have to run some sort of handicap system...... The date is flexible anyway Richo, so lets see what happens.

      Cheers,

          SEQ Ladies Day

Spunds like a great day! Trying to wrestle Jeff for the steering wheel any other day is near impossible. Depending on my roster, we would be in.

            Hey Dave

How about an observation rally included as well, I can sponsor some gag prizes.

            Regards, Richo.

              Nice one Dave.

I like it, and it seems my better-half is mildly excited by it too. She's cagey, so won't commit until closer to the date... something about a woman's perogative???

                Hi Matt

What have we got to do to get the girlies really excited, massages, handbags, shoes, or just our great compamy?

                Regards, Richo.

I would have thought that a chance to drive the new Prado was enough to get mine excited... Apparently not

She is still keen but reckons it might be me driving in a wig...

                    Re: SEQ Ladies Day

Sounds like this could be a good idea. It would be a nice change to be the passenger.
At least it gives me an excuse to get a winch fitted prior to the trip for just incase the other half really gets herself into a jam. lol

But on a serious note, I'll check to see if the other half is keen for a ladies day out.

                    cheers

                      Re: SEQ Ladies Day

Mine is clearly not interested at all. In fact, on the run on Sunday I ended up with a headache before heading home. Took some painkillers and the Mrs said she could drive home.... after we get through the dirt (Duck Creek Rd).

By the time I was at the bottom, the painkillers had kicked in so I didn't swap drivers, but I think that was hint enough that she has no wish to drive off-road.

We're still in after October though, maybe we could combine it with a camping weekend?

Still in the formative planning stages - trying to find a spot not too far away, with a little bit of dirt/sand/mud/combination of all three on the way that won't scare anyone thinking of coming along.

                              Stay tuned.

                              Cheers,
