Bribie lagoons open

The family did a run up the beach at bribie today to find that you cant get past the first lagoon It was about 10m wide and looked about a metre deep?? I turned around and went up via the inland track which was in fairly good condition. I got to test out my maxtrax on the way out as there was a bloke in a hilux bogged and I must say they work a treat 8)

It didnt even look like you would get though it at low tide but I could be wrong???

Brendan, were are these inland tracks everyone refers to, can you give me some mud map directions.

Hutch you come in from white patch and it spits you out on the north end of the beach. It takes about a hour to go up it.

Thanks, for that. Have been to Poverty creek didn't keep going. MMM, looks like next trip for me, i assume the tracks are fairly easy.

yeah there are a couple of spots it gets a bit soft but nothing to worry about. We normaly go up one way and back the other but as I said earlier there was only one way in and one way out at the moment :roll:

Hi All

first post (I think).

I was on Bribie as well yesterday doing a sand driving course.

We got on the beach at Woorim around 7:40am and off at the inland track at around 11'ish.
We were able to cross all the lagoon wash-outs but the instructor was mindful that we kept moving north so all were crossed befor the tide started coming up too high.

I really enjoyed the day and look forward to heading up again shortly.

What time did you hit the beach?

How long do they normally flow for after the rain stops? I'm heading up there for a few days next weekend, staying at one of the first campsites on the beach side.

I have no idea sorry - only been up the once.

My new VX is with the panel beater at the moment and hopefully I'll get it back so I can head-up again on Sunday arvo.

Hi Again

Took my lad up to Bribie today, entering the beach at Woorim and leaving via the in land track.

We would have got on pretty close to low tide and hence the driving was pretty easy.
All of the lagoons were passable and there were plenty of families (and Prados) out enjoying the day.

The inland track had some fairly rough patches and I need to remember to keep my speed down as I hit a few larger holes at speed.

All in all a beautiful day - today was only my 2nd trip but now I have a yerly pass and will be back up there on a regular basis.

Good to hear mate. I'll be heading up the beach about 2 hours before low tide, so hopefully all will be ok. Meant to be more rain today and tomorrow though :|

Just spoke to the Rangers and it looks like the Lagoons are still open :cry:

Hopefully the inland track isnt too bad tomorrow arv.

Spoke to the Emporium again before mate, he hasnt had a report from the Rangers yet today but said no one has had any trouble getting through when the tide is down.

Will call them again tomorrow morning. Thinking at this stage I will give it a go, we should be on the beach about 30-60 minutes before Low Tide.
