  • Bribie Island Maps?

    G'day all,

Does anyone have a decent Map of Bribie Island? I have the map off the EPA Website but there isnt much detail.

    Thanks a heap.

    Cheers,

    RT

    RT,

I'm assuming you don't have a permit? When you pick it up in person from the Emporium at Woorim, you get a Bribie Island Recreation Area map that has a little bit more detail. I'll scan a copy of mine later if you like and PM you with it.

    Cheers,

        Hey mate,

Yep got the permits, was all sent out in the mail. Thanks for the map, its pretty much the same as whats on the EPA website.

Going off both of the maps the Northern Access Track takes you straight to the Northern end of the Beach Camping Area. But they detail on the EPA website that beach access is also on the Southern end of the Camping area past campsite 2 :|

Just wondering how many tracks are there that arent shown on the maps :?

RT, only two ways on to the beach that I've ever seen are just what you mentioned - the inland track right up to the Northern end and the oceanside access track at the end of North St at Woorim. Only ever driven the inland track once (first time I ever engaged 4WD in the new Prado) but from memory there aren't too many side tracks to explore.

Someone else might put me straight though.

          Cheers,

            Ahh ok mate.

What it details on the EPA website is that there are two access points to the beach at the northern end. Not including the access point at Woorim :?

              Re: Bribie Island Maps?

              Hi

Haven't been up there for a while, but from memory the side tracks are signed as no go zones and are for the pine plantations. So basically the main inland track and the eastern beach are the only tracks that can be used. There is a lot of swamp there, so I wouldn't be game to go off the main tracks.

Access is at Whitepatch (southern end of the inland track) and over the other side at Woorim (southern beach access). A through V are the camp site beach access points. The legend on their map is really misleading. The Northern access track shown on the map is the one that starts at Whitepatch. Does that make sense?

Every time I have been on Bribie it is has been a different experience. Great place, nice and close.

Feel like going for a drive now
