Great report AJ, good to see you went to a few of the less publicised places, like Wallaman Falls and Eungella. Next time you are back spend some time on the Atherton Tablelands, it's a destination in itself. I have climbed Bartle Frere nine times as well, it's awesome, you have to do it in nice weather though, which is hard to strike, fairly unpleasant when it's crappy which is most of the year. You have struck some very unseasonal (wet) winter weather for this part of the world too. Cheers

We spent a couple of days at Atherton, it was wet as a shag and foggy the entire time so didnt see to much, looks like there would a lot to see and do if it ever dries out. Certainly I haven't given up on climbing Bartle Frere but as you said not much fun when its bucketing with rain like when we were there.
Everybody up that way was telling us it was the wetest dry season in more than 20 years, which wasnt that great for sightseeing and camping, but i reckon it probably made the Tele track a whole lot more interesting though.

      Cheers Andrew

Excellent report Andrew. Good read and the pictures really add to the story.

I can vouch for the pies at the Pinnacle Pub, we always visit when in the area.

Thanks guys, I tried to keep the writing to a minimum and add plenty of photos in the report, I like seeing others travel photos as it really gives you a feel for what is out there.

The only photos we had of the pies at the Pinnacles Pub were on our sons camera which he left in Mareeba, we are now in possesion of the camera again so here is a photo of one of the delicious pies.

From memory it was only about $7-8 for pie and chips and a sit down meal at the pub MMMMM............. pies...........hungry.

            Cheers Andrew
