We can't make it on Friday Night but are keen like mustard for Saturday.

If Mike is trip leader ,
1. Are you exploring far from York on Saturday morning as I don't know what time I can get there in the morning and I know you country guys like to start early.
2. Can we borrow the BBQ to cook on for Dinner and breakfast.

I will PM you later to find out details of how to get there.

Hi All,

Just back from the ES.

Everyone that wants to is most welcome to come up on Friday night. I guess that you will be arriving at different times so we will not arrange anything specific but BBQ's cookers fridges etc will all be available.

For those that have visited us before the studio is occupied during the week now but will be available on Saturday after we get back from our jaunt around the bush for showers etc etc. I have arranged to bring up a Coates porta loo on a trailer that we will have strategically located somewhere.

For thise that have not visited us before we are very easy to get to. Coming from the Lakes on the York road continue straight ahead past the service station over the bridge and up to T junction (Panmure Road), turn left (signpost Northam) then fiirst right (signpost Mount St/Cemetry) At the top of the hill turn left leaving the cemetry on your right and we are at the big limestone wall on the left (@300m I think) 1st entrance with lights (that will be on once it gets dark) on the gate pillars.
Go through the gates and turn left down the hill past the shed. (NB please be careful with the grevillias planted around the fence to the house block) to the bottom of the block. Plenty of space.

Hopefully and assuming that we get some more people other than those coming up to York on Friday night (where are our birthday people from last year??) I guess the plan would be to head off to the Lakes roadhouse in the morning to all meet up there.

I am going to do a bit of a recce around the place this weekend with younger son Michael who will actually be driving my Prado to give him some off roading experience to msee if I can find some more challenges for you like the one we found last year. We will go there as well. Plus a good spot for lunch. If anyone would like to come along this weekend give me a call.
On Sunday this time we do not have people coming for lunch like we did last year so we can have what I think someone described as a good fry up etc.

If anyone has particular music preferences please bring along some Cd's to play on the Bose that we can take out into the garden> I am really boring because I was brought up and still really only listen to classical stuff.
And we do have a quite big TV that we could show some photos etc so if anyone would like to do this on Saturday night just let me know.

We will see you on Saturday afternoon as we have heaps of other commitment on.

Maybe be there by lunch so i'll see if I can ring you guys for GPS locations and track you down. :roll:

Hi guys I am keen to try and tag along for Saturdays outing and to meet some of you lot. Do you have any (rough) idea of what time you would head out Saturday and for how long ? Just a basic idea so I could plan and work around it.

unfortunately).

What time will we meet up at The Lakes (or other location) on Saturday morning - for those who may just be out
for the day Saturday, or not getting to York on Friday night ?

Re: Saturday morning meet up at the Lakes how does around 10.00am sound for everyone.

I am thinking of the same route that we did last year ie beck to sawyers valley and the start of the pipeline but branch off it down to Ridley road via that steep climb we found last year with a lunch break down at the stream crossing at the bottom of the hill. There is a reasonably challenging track down a Telstra or gas line that I will try to find again tomorrow or Sunday then off towards the wandoo Woodlands area and then back to York 4/5pm.

So that we know roughly how many people we are having on Saturday can those who will be coming add names and numbers to the list.

As before we will have all the basics available but if people can think up a good salad or sweets plate to bring along that would be good.

We have got a heap of spicy Thai fish cakes to start with and I am going to ask my Thai daughter in law to make up one of her wicked sauces that pulverises vocal chords to go with them (plus a mild one!) some other goodies and then a selection of good York snags, salads and spuds etc. Mary will do her non alco punch that she did last year so if anyone wants to bring anything else along please feel free to do so. We have the family of Weber Q's plus the charcoal kettle so plenty of cooking power.

Sounds great Mike - If I don't make it Friday night, I'll see you at the Lakes on Saturday at 10am. I'm sure between Leachy, Fishnut and myself one of use will remember to bring a laptop or hard-drive with some pics on it from the Cape York trip.

Lilly and I will be driving to York Friday PM, staying overnight in Mikes TVan (thanks Mike) I will do the run on Saturdau and head back home after the BBQ on Sat night.

Hi Mike, we would love to come up on the weekend. We are picking up a new camper trailer on wedsnesday so an ideal opportunity for a test run.
I have a proper job now so my hours arent as flexible but Im hoping to sneak off early friday arvo.

I am sorry that we wont see you and the family Steve, but all the best for Xmas etc and hope to catch up soon.

John, my son Michael is unlikey to make it up to the Lakes because he is going out on Friday evening. If you are on your own how about wither I come with you for the run or you come with me. Could you give me a call on 0457 767 184.

We are now going to have to back out. Lilly had some surgery yesterday that was a bit bigger than expected and is incapacitated at the moment.
