Well we finally made it, a NSW meet up. And what a great turn out given the late notice. I didn't get my 120 back until last night and the decision for me to participate was made very much at the last minute - sounds like it was a last minute thing for a few of us.
Great turn out, 7 vehicles including 6 Toyotas: 5 Prados, 4 120s, Yota's 90 and Camo's 4Runner!
The following pradopointers attended. Drew, 120GXV6 (Matthew) and Austin, Camo, PeteS and Krys, Yota, Jacto and family and a Ford Courier with Jacto.
We met up at The Pines picnic area and had some serious chatting and looking at the vehicles. It was great to see how others had installed their hardware.
Then we headed off on some tracks. Between us all we only had limited knowledge of the tracks in the area - there are so many of them! The first loops was very tame, with a couple of bits of mud, the next track we did was a bit more difficult, providing some excitement for those that hadn't done much four wheel driving before. The Ford ute couldn't make it up after several attempts so they got to use their newly installed winch, which performed flawlessly.
A couple more fun tracks became very overgrown, with the track deteriorating on the other side of the creek into some extreme rock steps. Not for me, well not until I get the air locker installed anyway, so we all turned around and headed out.
We stopped at a clearing and some of us had a bit of fun in the mud, with some more group shots.
Then Yota took us down a real cool track to see one of his Geocaches, interesting stuff, some of us decided to give the track a shot going uphill. The Toyotas just ate it, of course.
We all stopped on the way back to civilisation to air up our tyres and have a final chat, with the convoy breaking up at 1730. I was plesantly surprised with the quick trip home, I was home in two hours including stopping for a Pizza at Kurrajong.
I'm sure there'll be more photos posted by everyone else, and also some GPS tracks and maps.
Thanks again everyone for coming along, I had a great day, can't wait to do it again. Also looking forward to a camping trip.
Drew.
