  • Nanga Heritage Trail (partially closed)

Popped into Nangamill this weekend for an over night camp and a little 4wd. We discovered that part of King Jarrah Form now has a big red gate on it. Talking to the ranger on the way out we discovered that Alcoa has closed the area for mining. The rangers are really annoyed as they will have to reroute the track.

Captain Fawcett track is fine, Nanga Heritage start is ok but cannot return via King Jarrah Form

    Typical isnt it....

The DEC has been restricting access to 4 wheel drivers throughout the South for years. However as soon as "Alcoa" want to mine - no problem....

      Thats it.

We get shut out because some tyres leave marks... so if you measure a 100M wide section of forest we chew up about 1 to 2%. then look at the area up there. impossible to be seen from space.

Alcoa will remove everything and leave a big hole.... seen from space easily...???

There is some cents(pun) in there somewhere ... Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

The DEC cannot put up much of an argument if Alco has a tenament and rehabs the ground back to original condition.
