Re: Sunday Jan 16, 2011 - Mt Mee
Hi everyone, I am newish to this board and just made my first post yesterday after lurking for a few weeks.
This may seem strange but I don't actually own a Prado, in fact I don't even own a 4wd yet but I am considering buying one and thought I would join the board and learn some things before I drop a load of cash. I currently drive a Honda CR-V which is a great little SUV and I have done a few trips in it around Qld but obviously it is not a real 4WD and there are some places I can't take it. If I buy a 4WD it will serve as my regular day car as well as a tourer and I would sell the Honda.
I am a keen photographer (landscapes and wildlife especially birds) and I am planning trips to the red centre, NT (kakadu etc) and the Kimberleys in WA.
Anyway I am keen to learn more about 4WDs and especially Prados as they seem to be well regarded and are really the only vehicle I am seriously looking at so I figure who better to get to know and to learn from than you guys who actually own, operate and modify Prados.
So I was wondering if I could join up with one of your trips like this one on the 16th of January which I reckon I am free for. I could drive to the Dayboro Bakery and was hoping then that maybe someone would take pity on me and let me ride with them for the day. as I doubt the Honda will be able to follow you the whole way.
Cheers
Brett
