  • Teewah beach - cooloola way day run 11/6/07 (pics)

Well, after some negotiations the missus agreed to a day run up Teewah Beach and back via the Cooloola Way as part of our little weekend away on the Sunny Coast.

No camping this time but I tell you I wish I had... booked a hotel room at Marcoola over the net, my first mistake
Got there late on Sunday (second mistake) after working Saturday and a BBQ on Sunday arvo so the key was left in a safe with a phone next to it... got the key ok but when we got to the room, ground floor looking across David Low way straight at the airport  Tried phoning the manager back but no luck. Oh well, first night I guess we'll have to deal with it.

Next morning told the manager weren't happy with the room and to see what they can do...

    Now for the drive

Headed up to the ferry, only 4 cars waiting but when we got to the other side the line was... how do you say... *&%@# long
A quick change of plans and we decided to come back via the Cooloola Way.

Pre-wash done after a short wait and to the first cutting to air down...
Now, how's this for a small world.

Pulled up in the turn around and there was another car airing down, (Mit Outlander)... didn't think anything of it, then a head pops up from the far side and what do you know... It's the guy I share my studio with and his son
We join forces with the usual comments... 'Great, so now I get to spend the day snatching out an SUV  '

    First call was Red Canyon...

    Then onto Double Island Point...

Tide was coming in and was already quite high so we decided against the walk up to the lighthouse...

Had a late lunch at the Freshwater Day use area and then headed back via freshwater rd. First stop was Freshwater Lake.

    Still totally empty...

Then continued along Freshwater Rd... the Outlander did pretty well with only a couple of stops to remove...

    ... stupid plastic bits

Once we got to the end of Freshwater Rd we parted ways and we came back via the Cooloola Way.

[insert short vid of crossing Noosa river here]

    Then onto Harry's Hut.
    Lovely reflections on the river.

    The water was soooo still...

    And then back to Marcoola...

They had moved us into a much nicer room... all that was available was a 3 bedroom apartment with a much better view 8)

Headed home on Tuesday via Montville... after a nice lunch there headed home and stopped at Mountain View Rd for the obligatory Glasshouse Mountains Shot

The other bonus from the trip... Zo now agrees that we do need new suspension, sooner rather than later
    Cheers, Leon

Great stuff Leon And it looks like it was a win-win outcome, with the Missus wanting that suspension upgrade sooner 8)

The lift has been 'approved' for a while but now I'm just waiting for my mechanic to have a spare Sunday to do it.
Now she knows I'm not just stretching the truth... like I might sometimes do 8)

              Hi Leon,
How did you get your pics to display like that?
They look special. Is it done with a program?
              cheers

Just a quick action I set-up in Photoshop.

                - new layer
                - extend canvas by 40px
                - colour white
                - drop shadow on pic layer
                - flatten layers
                Cheers, Leon
