    NSW: Sunday December 19th: Newnes State Forest

    Ok folks we'll head out to our favourite forest near Lithgow this Sunday We'll probably just do the easy stuff & maybe some sightseeing, also this will be the last trip before Christmas so we can have a nice lunch with an ale or two if you want (absolutely NO driving under the influence if you are drinking super :!: ).

    Weather forecast is saying possible shower & 19 C so it should be OK.

    Unfortunately the Disclaimer topic is MIA, but basically neither myself or the administrators of Pradopoint.com accept no responsibility for the actions of those who attend the trips; you bust your vehicle or yourself it's your problem :!:

    Meeting at: McDonalds at Richmond, corner of March & Market Sts. at 8:30am, departing around 8:45am We will head west up Bell's Line of Road & stop at the Zig Zag railway carpark & air down tyres.
    Finishing time is whatever you want but we usually go to around 5 or so.

    Bring: Prado, camera, morning/afternoon tea, lunch, air compressor/recovery gear if you have it, sense of adventure!

    UHF Channel 19 We won't use Ch 16 as the miners in the area use it.

      I'll come along for this one Glenn. I might have to shoot off around 4:00 though, not sure yet.

        I'm still out till next year with every weekend comited between now and mid Jan. Just got back from a 3 week overseas business trip, but can't wait to get out on another PP trip.

                Weather is looking OK at this point in time; temps are forecast from 11 to 17, will be a cool day by the looks.

                  Tempted, but I'm driving Brisbane to Sydney tomorrow and don't think the Mrs would approve me running off to go 4wd'ing the very next day.

                          Trip Report

                          Another fun day out at Newnes State Forest. Weather was very cool today with the wind picking up around lunchtime. We did some of the usual tracks so Declan could get some driving experience. I'm sure he had a good time today :!: 8)

                          Air down at the Zig Zag carpark



                          Then over to the wombat holes of course Plenty of other vehicles there also including a 4wd Hiace van that made it up just before we got there! Jeff is here having some fun





                          Then over to the mudhole



                          Then to Sunnyside lookout where we stopped for lunch. Incredible scenery overlooking the Wolgan Valley











                          Over to Birds Rock









                          We then followed the track to end up at Carne Creek gorge





                          Then up to Bald Hill trig



                          Back to the carpark to air up
