Re: Saturday Jan 8 - Turon NP Area

Looks like you all had a lot of fun. We went through that area with the Land Cruiser Club in October and I think the water levels were higher at the time. The Boomslangmobile can't wait to catch up with his PP buddies. See you next time.

Another fun filled day out in the sticks, crossing rivers, steep hill climbs, getting cross-axled and being snatched out for the first time.

Thanks to all for a great day out and an opportunity to get some snaps of my new bar in action 8)

Easy recovery, nothing like a good easy snatch and no harm done. Regards steve M

Hi Glenn, not sure I have done the right thing or not. I went back to the trip reports page, scrolled down till I come to one posted by you heading "NSW. Next day out by GH4wd Jun 2010 8.44pm, clicked on this then srolled down to the bottom and clicked the tab for "bookmark Topic" and clicked on this, will this let me see further trips planned by yourself or anybody else for NSW ?? I noticed when I first click on trip reports that there is a seperate heading 3 lines in a row, one for QLD, next under SA next WA but nothing for NSW only individual ones like the one I have bookmarked ?? Obviously Im doing some thing wrong ?? or cant find the one for NSW.............. :?: :?: Regards Steve M

We had a great time there, you would have enjoyed it for sure :!: Yeah young Declan got stuck a beauty on that short climb but I drove over & retrieved him via a snatch. Did anyone get any photos of his first recovery :?:

Great pics & video Kenta; dunno why the no. plates are not being obscured at Photobucket, don't forget to click the "Replace Original" after editing which I forget to do sometimes.

            Cheers,

              Steve,

click on the "Subscribe topic" to the left of bookmark topic. the system should send you an email if someone posts on that topic.

Yes the NSW trip reports were all grouped together but for some reason the grouping disappeared several months ago

              Cheers,

Re: Saturday Jan 8 - Turon NP Area

I just placed an order for 5 Mickey Thomson ATZs fitted and balanced for $330 each. I thought that was pretty good value.

I was offered Cooper ATRs for $295 each but got scared off by some of the Cooper horror stories.

I intend to settle the score with that hill next I'm out there

Sounds OK re the tyres. That hill could be tricky without a suspension lift though, there are some big rock steps further up  :!:

Hi Glenn, just noticed SA and WA are locked so nobody can add anything to them ?? QLD ok. Problem is if you post another upcoming trip as new topic under the trip reports unless I happen to go onto that page or anybody else that might want to go they will have to search through the newest post under trip reports it wont send me an email ?? Will it ?? Bloody computers, lol Im hopeless with them........I might send am email to the moderators and see wether we can have a page made up of upcoming trips for NSW and some where where we can bookmark it so when ever some one posts about a trip it will send us an email to let us know ?? What you reckon ?? Im sure they had this before ?/ maybe not. Regards Steve M

Ohh the joy of computers. As for me, I get by, but only just

Yes if someone posts up a NEW TOPIC, you won't be notified of it till you see it in the Trip Reports section & then subscribe to it :!: However, with the NSW: next day out topic, if you are subscribed to that topic then you will be notified by email when someone posts up for a new trip. Although it's by no means the official trip topic for us, hopefully people will use it so that other folks will know what's going on.

There ya go, clear as mud

How cool is that! Looks like some of the same trees that blocked our path were there. They can't have gone much before us.

I'm thinking they were there on Sunday :?:

Correction; after watching that vid a couple more times it seems the water levels are a LOT lower than we encountered so maybe they were there before the big rains went through the area 8)
