Luv it ! Great set of pics Matt. I'll bet it was great fun.

... and that pic of you playing in the snow with the kids has just blown away that 'tough guy' persona

    Well done.

    Cheers

Oh, is that photo of Matt? I though it was the wild beanie wearing yellow Yetti from the mountains.

Well done Matt. I so wish I could've gone for a drive today. Maybe next time.

Love the photos, top score mate.

Ah, I think we've stumbled on to the anomaly of the "Trip Reports" versus "Favourite Destinations" sections!

Any reason you put this here Matt? Do you want it moved?

                That looks great.
Being in WA i might not get to drive in snow for a while.
Use to got to perisher every year from the age of about 9 till about 25.

Last time I drove in snow was one day on the way to work in Tassi.
we got some snow along the Frankford Hwy. Loved it.

Good to see the kids enjoying it.

                Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

                  Hey Matt

All was not lost, we decidfed to go for a drive to Gloucester today and then drive back across the tops. Signs out of Gloucester said road to Scone closed due to snow and ice so decided to keep going anyway and if need be turn off down Tomala road. Anyway road was open all the way even though roads were slippery as and covered in snow and slush so the five kids had a chance to play in something at Polblue they had never seen before and the day ended up brilliant.

How's this for a shot, they talk about 4WDrivers constantly abusing the environment and I am no greeny but this is so called selective tree harvesting. The way I see it is that instead of selecting a tree to harvest, they select the whole friggin area:

I'll be staying somewhere between Sydney and Gloucester on Tuesday night. Probably in Dungog near Barrington Tops .

Gloucester was around 17 degrees at 1.00pm and at Polblue on Barrington Tops where photos were taken it was 5 degrees, so a bit of difference. I would expect Dungog to be similar during the day but dropping to around zero or minus at night.

                            Syco,

A good way tell where there is snow is to visit the Weatherzone forums at http://forum.weatherzone.com.au

Some of the talk gets a bit technical, but the "Breaking Weather" forum is a good way to get live information from various places when a big weather event is going down. It's an interesting place.

There's snow in the Blue Mountains today for example.

                            Drew.
