  • Morgan Quarry Saturday 22 January 2011

    State: South Australia.
Location: Morgan Quarry (Morgan - Blanchetown Road). Approx 2 hours, 15 minutes drive from Adelaide
    GPS co-ords: South 34.052803, East 139.659927
    Date: 22 January 2011
Known details: Varying degrees of difficulty, and there may be mud given the recent rains up that way. Youtube footage promises a great day with varying degrees of difficulty.

UHF channel for the trip/day UHF10

Lea and I will be heading to the above location. Would welcome anyone interested in spending a day at the location. Heaps of video on the place on youtube.
NB we will be staying up that way on Friday night with friends.

    Other matters to consider:
    - area is used by motor bikes so sand flags are probably a good idea.
    - unsure of distance to food/water so pack appropriately and tie down the fridge!
    - recovery gear recommended
Apologies if I have left out anything as this is my first post on a trip. Moderators welcome to add any other considerations (that does NOT mean random pics Matty!)

        Would love to come along,

however i am still working on some MAJOR renovations at the moment. Until i get Trish's new kitchen installed i won't be going anywhere. Personally i thought that cooking everything on the BBQ and washing dishes in the laundry trough was working quite well  And she now has all the luxuries installed like walls and ceilings, might even start a bit of painting in the next few days too. Aparantly though, cupboards and benches and a stove are important things, more important then going 4WDriving

        Have fun

        Cheers Andrew

Surely after all that hard work your doing for Trish - a day of R&R wouldn't be out of the question?

            Andrew

Anaconda have a sale o gas stoves and portable cupboards. Ideal as the better half can change her mind and swap the room around at a whim. Job done, see you there

Shame actually, we are taking the camper and staying somewhere on the Murray Friday night that Lea has planned. Probably a lush green flood plain

See you there Matt, we should be there by about 10am, but I happy to play it by ear if others are arriving later.

PS weather is looking good at 30 degrees

Dave just tell Lorna some fellow ppers have agreed to "field test" the problem for free because we don't want marital discord amongst our valued members.

Dave, tell her someone will fit them for you on the day and show you how to do it and that is the reason you are attending.

                          Matt,

Yep, just round the corner, but had other tasks on the list to complete. Another time for sure

I will see how I go convincing her that pp'ers will fix my lights

Matt, I will now be leaving from Adelaide Saturday morning. Suggest we convoy along with any other late starters and of course Lorna and Dave in the hope Lorna forgives him. Suggestions as to where we leave from are welcome.

                            So far we have:

MidLifeCrisis: Rob and Lea and support crew
Matty & Loz: Matt and Loz and support crew
                            sapradogxl: Lorna and Dave (Maybe)

Update on the weather is 33 degrees.

There must be others and ALL are welcome.
