Wooo hoo.... AMTS bash plates are on !!! They looked brilliant, it felt bad to put them under the car. Thanks Andrew!!


Some how been me!! I managed to break one of the bolts by over killing it !!


It could be tricky to get the bolt out.. so I hope 3 bolts at front would do the job till I manage to fix the other

Thos are high tensile bolts. Sure it wasn't cross-threaded?
Have a search on easy-outs. Should be right with the 3 bolts.

It could well be cross-threaded. The fact that I was doing it alone didn't help

damn, you managed to bust a high tensile bolt...thats a good effort.

Used a Breaker-Bar for the reach, didn't felt till it snapped. As amts suggested probably it's cross threaded.

I got a bolt out of that same hole with an easy out before. check my thread here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-on-bash-plate

When you've got it out:
[Easy way] run a tap through the hole. Then put the replacement bolt in lightly.
[Hard way] Undo the radiator bolts and swing the radiator out of the way, run a tap from the top of the cross member, then insert longer bolt from the top of the cross member and use a nut at the bottom to hold the bashplate.

Thanks a bunch AMTS!! Just picked my plates up from the depot! Just unpacked them, the lovely missus let me unpack them in the house ;-) now leaning at the front of the bed lol! Gotta say mate top rate product well worth the wait! Thanks again and will put some picks up once they are fitted. Heading out on night shift tomorrow, will see of I can fit them first tho ;-)

Andrew, my plates arrived today and I'm sorry to say they will not be going on to my car - they are far,far too good to be potentially scratched or have mud on them.

I like the sound of that AMTS ;-D, still havent posted up the pics but all I can say is they are as good looking off as they are on ;-) and they provide a bucket load of protection, actually surprised me how far the new protection went back! Top effort again mate! Thanks a bunch! All up it took about half hour from taking the old ones off to having the new plates on and finished, not taking into account the time it took to pressure clean the underside of the white girl when I had the old plates off ;-)
