Apparently Fozzy didn't fare too well? Maybe some of the SA guys can bring some up...

LFar copped some hits as well, even the mighty 150 got caught out on some of the dips but a lot of that had to do with excessive speed.

I'm OK for Tuesday 5th July. Will come cash in hand if prototype delivered on time.

I don't like jumping queues but it would work out great as I'm off to Birdsville and surrounds on 23rd July

We could do both on the Tues if you like.

          PM me details.

          Thanks

          Nick

That would be the SA guy, think I am the only one going. Still trying to work out how to strap a dozen sets of sliders onto the roof rack, not much chance of fitting any bash plates in.

            Cheers Andrew

You could fashion the sliders and plates together into wings, be there in no time and still just overnight delivery rates

Step 1: Invert front plates to create aerodynamic top of wings
Step 2: use second plate as wing undersides
Step 3: lay out out sliders as wing frame.
Step 4: duct tape it all together. DO NOT duct tape to rig yet
Step 5: If GXL duct tape to existing sliders; or
If Grande, affix pivot and duct tape wing to pivot and pivot to existing sliders to allow for F1-11 swing wing effect.

              All done.

amts can supply CAD drawings if required

Feel free to charge Lea full fare prices if sahe tries to get a seat.

                Nick,
The prototype is lacking all welded parts, vent holes, nutserts and sump and diff cover plates. It was produced to check the fabricator's manufacturing processes and that my angle measurements are correct. You can take them for a test run to Birdsville, but...... don't say I didn't warn you.

                  Amts

Nothing a bit of gaffer tape can't fix

No problem with the 5th if you would like my car to try it on -I'll be there.

It took 6 months to get the exhaust prototype finished and on my car - my mate owned the business!!

                    Hi AMTS

One thought I have that I can't remember reading about is whether there will be any loss of clearance as compared to standard bash plate?

Also keen to fit these prior to a trip in Sept if possible, so first round would be great.

                    Cheers mate.

                      Nick,
I'll be in touch on Monday

                      Cam,
The bashplates are level with the crossmember between the diff and the transmission. So the ground clearance is unchanged. The angled face is still well within the approach angle of the car. I will have to compare the steel prototype with the factory bashplates when I get it.

amts, working long hours and finding it difficult to check.

Is there anyone that can check the following for us:
"Can you double check for me on your car (120 diesel with trans cooler), as to whether you have the transmission cooler lines running near the bottom of the radiator? The reason is due to this post which shows brackets holding the trans cooler lines beiing attached to the cross member under the radiator. If you have this bracket, then you will need the V6 version of the bash plates.

So can you remove the front bash plates and double check that you don't have 2 brackets under the radiator cross member? Thanks

I would be interested if there is a second round.

Bit too much on at the moment to tackle this - getting a lift put in next week and I would like to look into the diff drop kit issue before committing to any bash plates.

                          Thanks

im going to confirm ill order. diesel manual 1kz. postcode is 3810. id prefer to wait for the 2nd run though as i havent had enough time to look at the diff spacer yet. Ill confirm if i need the bigger hat or not when its time to order.
bloody great effort though mate. maybe ill even have enough cash at the time to hit AJ120 up for some sliders at the same time!

                                Cheers, Ron
