120 Prado shift lever repair kit

I currently have one last set which I have kept until the next batch is ready. The pins is what I'm waiting for.
I might be able to send this last set off to you.

Hi Andrew, Do you still have these available ? If not do you know when they may be available again. Mine broke on the Bloomfield track, Luckily we were still able to complete the rest of our trip doing the old Tele track etc and back to Sydney with the help of a trusty Occy strap! would love to try this as Toyota just quoted $1000 for a new shifter assembly. Hate to think what it would cost for them to install it as well. !!!

amts - do you still have these available? also will it do anything for a 120 with good shift on all but does not hold in 3rd. Or do I have a broken pin sleeve awaiting detection....

Yes, they are available.
Sounds like your pin might be falling out soon, or it might get jammed, and then when you force it, it falls out.

I have had this Pin Spring and Star washer fitted today and the Shift now works- ( "like a shop bought new one") Brilliant fix Andrew Only problem was that the original pin was missing completely and was not found.
I was quoted $900 plus labour so to fix it for $12.20 is sensational Thanks again Andrew

With every one mentioning mileages, just thought I would mention my Prado has over 400,000km on the clock.

Never opened the engine or the autobox,
Runs like clockwork.

Hardest part was retrieving the original star washer dropped under the shift stick assembly

Finally got around to stiffing my stick back up today. I tell u what, the missuss is so much happier to have a stiff stick in her hand again.

Great mod and easy to do. Took my longer to clean the sand a crap out of the fine fitting edges

I just wanted to say a big "Thank you" to Andrew (amts) for going out of his way by making kits like this available to fellow Prado owners and helping us out with what would normally be a pain in the arse job to try and fix and not to mention what it would cost if you had to go to Toyota, best $11.50 I've ever spent.

This sounds like a very cheap and easy fix for a seemingly common problem. I'm wondering how common this is? I'm on my second 120 and I'm a habitual shift changer. I did 270,000klms on my first 03 120 and I'm on 130,000klms on my current 09 120. Even though I'm a habitual shift changer, I've not had any issues, No sloppiness or tightening of the shifter, both worked/working faultlessly. Is it a "given" that this problem will occur or have I got a better touch than others?

Mine has done over 131,000kms with no issue but I know two others who have had the problem. Who knows, mine may have never gone but for the sake of $11.50 I feel it was worth fitting it.

Sorry Andrew, I have to resign as your 'unofficial' WA distributor of the repair kit - yes, after eight months I have finally got round to fitting the kit. I know it's only a ten minute job but I never seemed to get round to doing it and kept selling my kit to others who needed it as a repair rather than as a prophylactic as I have done. This is the fourth kit I've had but the first I've actually fitted
