  • Installed my AMTS MkII mount today.

    AMTS Mount - $130
Filter assembly on eBay - $120.
    Hose and fittings - $15
    TOTAL : $265

Fair bit cheaper than the $380 (+fitting) I was quoted by the various retailers.

Reused the original hose that fed the factory filter in case I want to take the mount out and return it to the factory look. Just need to get a 90˚ fitting for the outlet on the FM100 filter to do away with some of that excess hose. I might look at putting a brace between the back of the mount and the firewall as I can see it shaking a bit on a corrugated road.

    • As per Dave's post on the previous page, I bought this 90deg connector off ebay.

Makes for an easier plug in for the hose.

      • I believe that with the T-piece that is supplied with the compressor, if you place the pressure switch at the end and the hose outlet in the middle, then you won't need to get the additional elbow.

        • Andrew,

I'm not sure how this would work, as the pressure switch would then protrude towards the left side of the engine bay and would foul the panel on the edge of the engine bay.

          Cheers,

          David.

I'm only imagining it in my head so I could be wrong.

The T-piece would go along the rear of the fuel filter and point towards the engine. The pressure switch is on the end, and the outlet in the middle pointing up towards the bonnet. Is there enough room?

            • Yep Andrew, it fits that way nicely. Don't have a pic at the moment, and it's too dark to get a decent one with the iPad. I'll try to remember tomorrow.

                • Hope this isn't hijacking the thread too much but can someone tell me if the pressure switch is needed if you're not using the compressor for diff locker activation? I'll only be using it for tyres, air mattresses, etc so is there a bypass of some description or do you need the switch to shut it off when you stop pumping and using the pressure it's producing?

Yes you'll need the pressure switch. It turns off the compressor when you don't need to pump up the tyres.

                      • Finally got around to installing the ARB compressor and wired it all up yesterday. I rotated the manifold 180° to the way SimpleSi has it and the pressure switch and outlet fit perfectly.

                        • Looks good, Hollywood! Very neat install. Might want to find a rubber boot to cover the air outlet and you're done.

                          • Thanks mate, I've got the outlet taped up for the moment, any suggestions on suitable caps? I thought I saw a blue cap of some description but can't recall where.

I was given a rubber cover from gumboot. I think it was a rubber foot for a chair, maybe . Fits perfect

                              • Yep, Bunnings for a rubber chair leg tip. The plastic cover that comes over the terminals of the pressure sensor also fits perfectly.
