Andrew,
Actually, if there's any improvement that could be made, the bracket is very hard up against the loom on the LHS of the engine bay (this loom can't move out of the way like the one along the firewall). The lower rear left corner of the bracket (as mounted) is in danger of rubbing into the loom over time. I mitigated the risk by wrapping the loop in a couple of layers of insertion rubber & will keep an eye on it. Perhaps this loom is bulkier in the Kakadu models with the extra wiring running through the firewall?
Cheers,
David.

Got my bracket all fitted up now. Very neat fit & well worth it. Thanks Andrew!

Guest repliedThe prototype is on order so will see it soon. Currently doing it for the ARB compressor only as the TJM one looks a bit big. Haven't got a hold of one yet.

Hey Andrew,
Nice work mate.
Have been looking at a similar arraignment (Solidworks).
I'll be keen for a unit & know some mates who would go for it as well.
Keep us updated.
Cheers,
Justin

If it can be made to fit the TJM compressor you can count me in for a tray. 2004 diesel

Guest repliedHi Hazza,
Few more tweaks and prototype is next on the cards. The 1:1 CAD drawings seems to fit in fine but a bit tight. Won't know until the real thing gets wedged in there.

Any more progress on the combo bracket my compressor and filter are collecting dust in the garage lol. If you need any more measurements or if I can help in some way just let me know.
If I was in SA I would come over and give you a hand.

I am just throwing this out there because I don't know for sure but the early Thomas Bluetongue compressor (II) had a similar arrangement. I had the head off mine to change it around. The inlet was a single connection with a reed valve while the other three were common to the outlet reed valve and could be drilled and tapped as multiple outlets / gauge connections. You could rotate the head around in 90 degree increments as the head bolts and head were square and the inlet and outlet reeds were just ports above the pisotn. If this is the same there should be no reason why the head couldn't be rotated 90 degrees clockwise and the inlet moved to 12 o'clock (at the top second picture). The pressure gauge and outlet swapped so the gauge sits in the same place at 3 o'clock and the outlet opposite its current location at 6 o'clock.

Without the tray : Height-195mm with the handle. You could easily take off that handle. Take 25mm off for that.
Length-274mm
Width-100mm
There is now a few customers of mine and PP members up here that are interested in this bracket. This compressor does come out of the same factory as the Dr. Air units I think.
Sorry I took so long to get you these measurements. If the TJM thing fits into the bracket, I will pull that bottom plate off and measure the feet for the holes.
Catch you later, John.
Looking at the top chamber, there appears to be 3 outlets. 1 looks like the air filter, 1 for the pressure gauge and 1 for the outlet. Would any of these be interchangeable and can the pressure gauge be removed and sealed off with a plug?

Guest repliedOriginally posted by photoprado View PostNot sure they would be suitable for under bonnet mounting as the ARB job with all those motor vents though. They are listed at Rays Outdoors HERE (about $250 then) I think a mate of mine has one of these, I could try and borrow it if you want to measure it up for CAD?
Originally posted by Talktheroo View PostThey can go as low as $200.00 when they are on special from TJM. If you get stuck I will get out the calipers. Let me know what you want as in measurements.
John.

Amts...I'd be interested in the combined compressor (TJM/ARB?), Parker Racor 230R or 120 fuel filter/water separator bracket. I'm not 100% into fuel filters or what I'll end up with so here is a useful link I found:
http://www.maesco.com/products/racor...tml#specchart1
Maybe you can design one that takes both the filters I've mentioned....not that I'm being fussy or anything....may get yourself a larger market share but lesser costs!!??
Cheers.
