There's a gusset which stiffens up the floor of the bracket to the panel where the hex holes are.

OK just a bit concerned there is a stress raiser there in the corners of the hex. Does the bracket vibrate much?

They were supposed to take hex-serts so that a fuel filter bracket can be mounted to it. However there is restricted space for the bracket so the holes are not needed anymore but it was easier to have them in at the time rather than later.

Nothing to do with me but why the hex holes in the lower section?

    Hazza,
Will do. Can't give you a measurement of the new bracket yet as it is still undergoing changes.

In the meantime, I have picked up the current batch of brackets from the platers. The plating has been laid on thick!

Purchased my new compressor form the 4x4 show last Saturday. Keen to get it mounted now.

Keep me on the list for a combination compressor and filter compatible bracket.

Could you also give me a measurement from the bracket straight back to the two captive bolts on the firewall? Reason is I have mounted my SBI12 there and I’m hoping I will not have to move it. No biggy if I do but at least I can prepare.

I'm collecting the current production version from the welder tomorrow (friday). Then off to the platers, then to the powder coaters.

I purchased my compressor yesterday and was going to knock up a bracket this arvo but I wont bother if your ones are nearing completion.
I am halfway through sketching up another revision for the combined bracket. It will take a few more weeks yet. It is looking feasible though.

    Hey Andrew,

You couldn't swing me some photos of how you have the compressor mounted behind the headlight?

    Pretty Please.

Ok, well it seems that its pretty easy to mount in behind the drivers headlight.

    I will investigate... Thanks guys!

    Cheers,

    Jeff
