Sorry, I didn't go too much into which one is better as I own the V6. For a start, the filter needs to meet the minimum flow rate and should filter down to whatever micron level it claims to filter. The FM100 is longer so depending on which Mk2 bkt you have, you may or may not be able to fit that model.

I'll need a pic of the bracket to be sure. Racor 230R will definitely fit. The FM100 requires an additional bkt on the original MK2 but will now fit without an additional bkt on the revised version.
Thanks for the download... I thought there was but have a new computer since then and couldn't find your email.

    A couple of questions...

    * Are there written instructions that I can give my mechanic.. (still time/skill poor so it's off to the mechanic)
The installation instructions can be downloaded from here https://app.box.com/s/pfd9ag7ozdc8jzfd042k

    * Which water separator fits best with the bracket... (mkII ordered and received Dec 2013)
I noticed someone mentioned filing off something... is this the bracket I would have?

    1. With a Racor 230T filter is it necessary to file down the bottom valve to make it possible to open and close it?
No longer needed. Bracket has been modified to be mounted higher

    2. With a CKMA12 are the 2 spare outlets still accessible for future airlocker use?
    Yes

    3. With a Racor 230T i understand it needs to be removed to replace the filter?
    Yes

    4. A few years on, has there been and failures that would be attributed to excess heat due to the cramped install position?
    Not that I know off

Lastly amts, whats the lead time on a MKII compatible with racor filter + switch bracket?
    Currently available

Yeah I make sure to do that. If it gets run with the engine off it's easy to hear the difference in performance. The only time it hit the thermal cut was after a long day of driving and on the 6th tyre going from 20 up to 40 PSI

With the ARB compressor in the engine bay how to people find it to be heating up and hitting the thermal cut-off?

Thanks anyway. Am looking at a spot behind air intake piping or in the cargo area next to my drawer.

    Thanks
I don't believe it will fit due to the larger size charcoal canister in the way.

Did some investigation today. No diesel leak, the stuff under the car was water mixed with a bit of diesel (the stuff I spilled wile installing the filter). While the car was running I did notice a puddle forming under the area of the filter on the ground. Turns out its water condensation from the air conditioner. Putting in the fuel filter coincided with a massive spoke in humidity in the prints which is very unusual for here so wasn't ever expecting to see water puddles.
