ITEM: Toyota Reverse Sensor Kit (Complete)
CONDITION: 2nd hand and wiring a little dusty.
REASON FOR SELLING: Shed cleanout. Original rear plastic bar was replaced with Kaymar bar and I cannot install sensors into new steel bar.
PRICE AND PRICE CONDITIONS: $100 or best offer, plus delivery costs.
EXTRA INFO: Comes with manual. Simply plugs directly into wiring harness. No need to cut, solder or tape wires. PM for further details if interested.

Well I suppose they could be wired into the front. You would need to know your reverse active wire and use an accessory wire to activate the unit. I suppose it would work, but I dont know anyone who has done this.

What colour are the sensors

The sensors are white. They came out of a 2008 GXL. Not the pearl white you find on the VX or Grande. You can paint them to suite but I am not sure if you need special paint or normal automotive paint will suffice.

I may be interested - have been tossing up sensors or camera for a while now.

Tell me, is there is 'off' switch included so that you can bypass or switch off in the cabin? Also how does the system respond with a towbar/trailer attached?

There is an off switch on the speaker, not in the cabin. With just the OE towbar and hitch works fine, with a trailer it beeps continuously.

Yep. What D4D said. If your handy you could run a wire to the drivers area and switch it on/off as required.

the best thing about this kit is you simply unplug the wiring and insert the sensor wiring and plug n play. As I said it is working fine but you will need to work out where to put the sensors on the rear plastic bar. I wonder if there is a diagram around of Toyota spec drill hole locations. I will ask a friend who is a toyota mechanic and find out.

Hello Pjorek, unfortunately I dont have the plastic rear bar any longer. Another PPer has offered to scan and send the pdf of the installations manual to me via email. when I receive it, I shall post it in the original post.

you can install narva plug with a reed switch to stop the unit constantly beeping when trailer is connected. if the buyer is local i can colour code these plugs to suit your prado.
