  • Maxtrax mk1

    Hey all,

Have been thinking for a while that I could do with another set of maxtrax.. I have a set of the MK1 style which have most definietely paid for themselves yet can't see myself chucking them out. Someone tell me if I'm wrong but guessing the new Mk2 style won't stack on the Mk1. Could post pics to show the difference but if you have a set you'll know.

Seeing as I'm not one to need the latest and greatest, although hopefully someone here is...thought someone might be interested to flog me their maxtrax mk1 so they can get the newer models, which do actually have a few good features I've just found. I figure this is the only circumstance where anyone would actually want to sell them, never actually seen a set for sale 2nd hand... guess thats testament to the product

      Damn, I don't know...

I've only noticed the new ones have curved ends and three rows of studs, which I think my skinny wheels would only grip on two of.

What is the difference between mk1 V1 & 2? Mine were purchased about 15 months ago.. and I thought it was the first version but obviously what do I know.

I'm pretty sure mine are like this:-

I'll grab a photo of them if I'm still in doubt.

Also I'll be driving between Noosa and Sydney in the next month or so

      Thanks
      Leon

The only difference I can see is the "THIS WAY UP" embossing.

By the look of them, V1 Mk 1 is slightly longer than V1 Mk2 and has more agressive serrated edges on the outside near the handles.

So, sorry I haven't really kept up with the evolution since I bought them but I believe I have the V1 Mk2.

They have the smoother handles, they have the routered looking contour around the edge and the "this way up". Also, if you have the whole family there they are 1205mm at the longest point.

Sure, as soon as it becomes appropriate

I shoot their product shots... so it's an occupational hazard

I'll see if my set are still spoken for and let you know if they're not.
