  • Rear LED spot lights

    Hi there,
I am looking for advice on what is a good set-up for rear spotties which will primarily be used to set camp up. I have a Rhino platform rack for mounting, just looking for idea's, prices and service providers who could fit them?
    Regards

Lots of options to either mount on the roof rack, or on the rear tyre carrier.

Mine is from Amts on the forum and very happy with it, here is the linkhttp://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...t-Mount-Option. Kaymar also make one I believe.

X2 Very Happy. Rear work light from eBay. Switch in cabin simple on or off not connected to reversing lamp or such. The only problem is if you were to accidentally leave it on while driving. Would not be too hard to have a relay running from ignition to make sure it was off if the engine is on.

I was thinking about this the other day as well, would love to know what others have done.

There's a channel down the side of the windscreen. Go down there into the engine bay then through the firewall.

To the people that have used the windscreen channel, are you removing the plastic cover and putting the wire under there, or just putting the wire under the lip that hangs off the plastic cover ? Doesn't seem like much room there, might have to use both sides of the windscreen to get decent cable up to a solar panel.

I just put my wire under the lip but it was a thin cable. For solar power I would image it would be tight as the cable gauge would be considerably thicker. I also have a 120, not sure if the 150 channel is a different size.

I pushed my twin B&S cable under lip of the windscreen seal edge, see pic. Goes to LH front roof rack leg mounted Weatherproof Anderson plug - plug cap faces rear. AFAIK 15A cable.

Thanks for the pic brundah01. Any chance you (or anyone else who's done this) can post a pic showing the cable under the lip ? IE, from the left hand side of that photo you posted ?

Although it sits so snug it doesn't really need it, I did put a few dabs of black silicone in the channel first just in case the sheer power and speed of the V6 caused the cable to fly out...
