Hi guys,The bullbar comes with the bash plates underneath. As for the antenna mount it does not come with one,it just has the 4 holes on the bar itself so it causes no problem in opening the bonnet.I'll post some more photos to show the bash plates and ariel mounts.I have my two way ariel mounted on the passenger side. The bar also come in black.

I don't know if it's the same guys, but there was someone on ebay selling imitation ARB roof racks for less than $300.

I to have just recieved the same bullbar.I am very impressed with it so far.
The welding on the recovery loops looks terrible, hope the rest is stiched together a bit better than that.

I must say I am amazed that someone can so blatantly rip off another companies product and get away with it. I am equally amazed that anyone can sell it for that price and make a profit.

Is there any movement/play between the car and the bar or is it solid?

They all move it is a prado!! which is actually not the bar moving but the body moving on the chassis and of courses the bar is bolted to chassis.

              Bluejed,
What is the gap between the flare and the bar?

              Thanks

i know the body moves on the chassis hutch but my mate has an ironman bar on his 02 hilux and you can wiggle/flex it 4inches or so and when driving on corregations it kinked his quarter panels. so i was wondering if it had this kind of movement or if it is solid to pull/push on

The bullbar is bolted solid to the chassis, it should never move unless it is fitted poorly, however when the body moves on the chassis in severe conditions you could get some rubbing on the body if the gap between the bar and the body is not sufficient

I have bought the same bar, waiting for my winch to turn up before I fit the bar. All looks to be good for the price!!
Does anyone know what the long key looking bits are for??

I am of the opinion that ARB state on their fitting instructions "When installed in accordance with these instructions, the front protection bar does not affect opperation of the SRS airbag."
Based on this and the fact the fixings and all are the same I doubt there would be any adverse affects.

I really dont want to start an argument here BUT.......

The ARB bar flexes like a big spring, no question in my mind.
The body moves a little but nothing compared to the flex in the bar.

The bar being rigid and the body doing all the moving is an ARB propogated myth.
Try for yourself, swing on the end of your ARB bar and see how much the gap changes and how much it flexes just with a bit of weight.

Even better, have a good look at the internal bracing and you will see that the ARB is triangulated the WRONG way for rigidity outboard of the mounts and in the wing/extension/guard section.
There is a lot of mass hanging out a long way and its very poorly braced.

The secondry issue is how thin and insufficiently braced or welded the main bracing from the bar to the mount is causing the sideways moment on small bumps.

Why is it that some other bars are fitting nice and snug to the body (compared to the ARB)
Because the ARB has basic design flaws (many actually).

Ive been in the engineering game for 30 years now and there is no question that the bar is doing the moving around much more than the body ever did or will and easy to see if you look at how its designed.

Why not try putting a jack up under the bar in front of one of the tyres and see how little a load it takes to move a large amount
Why do you think antennas wobble themselves to death so much on an ARB bar?

Its not the body folks, its the bar ends and always has been.

You can probably tell Im disappointed with my ARB bar and we can all keep kiding ourselves but from an engineering standpoint it is fundamentally flawed in numerous areas.
Visually the best looking bar out there, but poorly engineered IMHO

These are still selling, and they are priced at $640 plus freight from Vic. Looking pretty good considering they have recovery points when others I've looked at don't and you can't use after market ones.

From what I can see, this is a winch bar isn't it? Are the holes in a universal position to take any winch? Not sure if I'll get one, but it'd be nice to know that the bar will accept any winch if I go down that road.

I'm bummed I just missed out on a TJM Outback t13 bar on eBay for $300. One bid only, I could have lived without the recovery points at that price.
04 GXL - Red Centa dual battery, Alloy B/bar, BFG AT's, Rhino Rack commercial bars x 3, GME TX3540, TJM roof cage, Outback Ideas recovery points, LHS rear drawer, 2" Dobinsons/Bilstein lift, ARB CKMA12 air compressor, CoilRite airbags, ARB 2.5m awning, MCC Dual Wheel Carrier, Eagle Eye headlights with 55w hid lo beam.

Yep !! These are winch bars. I got one month ago and they are good for the price. I'm sure you could fit most of the winches on it.

Don't be too depressed. The picture was of the older model and it doesn't look like a winch bar to me.

Shan - did you get any paper work which confirmed these bars were air bag compliant? I think this is the biggest issue with them. I messaged a seller on ebay who said they were compliant, but without paperwork etc you would have no hope of proving it I think?
