I have looked around at various manufacturers and TJM/ARB etc, but dont really like the look of their bars.

I have decided to go the Toyota bar, and have it fitted at the 10,000k service. Was quoted $1495 fitted by my local dealer.

Can't wait, car just looks to plain without it and the standard headlights suck goats balls.

      Only 5000k's to go............................

I have the toyota bar and when i get a new prado in about 6 months, I will be fitting the ARB bar. It is much stronger than the Toyota bar and doesn't need polishing all the time. If you are thinking of fitting a winch in the future you will require the winch frame to be fitted this is an extra and basiclly a pain in the butt to fit and winches don't go in as easily.

All bars add significant weight to the front of the car so you might like to think about that one for a possible suspension upgrade. I have just upgraded mine after 2 1/2 years and wished i had done it in the beginning. what a difference.

The tojo bar only weighs about 4kg less than the steel Arb bar. Add the winch frame and they are about the same.
      Happy shopping Adds

That is the first time I have heard this. I always assumed there was a much bigger differential in weight. This only adds to my wishing to have my factory bar replaced with an ARB.

There aint much in it at all Greg.

I still think that with my setup i have about 3" of lift with the heavier bar on.

Having lived with the ARB bar for a while now, I don't know why I ever considered anything else.

I should have done it much sooner and think it is bloody awesome. It will be my first upgrade on any new fourby from now on.
