  • Looks great Chippy, those tie downs for your fridge are they rated (kgs) ones or are they the Brass jobs, i have been looking for the rated type which lay flush for a while. Anyway the carpet job finished it off nicely, Russ.

    • G'day Russ

The one's I used are the Light Duty lashing ring.

UES International (Here) has the light duty units, some rated at 250 Kg ... and even a set rated at 2000 Kg

      Cheers

      • Just a thought chippy, since your finished... .

With the rear set up of mine, I put the fridge on the passenger side. I dont know about your camper, But with mine i cant open the rear door all the way if its still hitched up.
So, if the camper is on, I can still get the fridge to slide out for access..
But then again my fridge slides under a shelf. you could just sit next to your and open it... I think I'll just shut up...

But it sure looks pretty with the wall to wall carpet.

        • Its OK Jeff ... I know where you're coming from

When I first hooked the camper up I had the same drama ... so I went and got another hitch .... stepped down by an inch or so ... and now the rear door opens fully .... even with the camper hooked up.

          Cheers

Great job chippy, It makes me think that I might sell my full drawer set up and build a half job to allow the rear seat to be used or more space for the extra pram needed now. hmmmm. KMK

            • Very nice jpb Chippy.

Looks like you went on a shopping spree at UES.

I ended up using what I could find at Bunnings.

Where did you get the bearings from for the draws?

              • G'day Len

Being a Rockingham neighbour you should find these guys quite handy.
I got the bearings from Kwinana Bearings and Belts in Burlington Street, Naval Base.

From memory I used a set of the 10 mm i.d / 30 mm o.d ball radial bearings .... held in place with cup head bolts and locknuts.

Their web site, with address and contact details, is http://www.wozwebs.net/bearingsandbelts/

                Cheers

                • If you used 10ID X 30OD, you would have a heap of 6200 bearings.
                  They are 9mm wide.

                  • That sounds about right ... they're about 9mm wide.

I know I kept the docket and one of the packs (with the part no on it) ... but I cannot seem to find them ops:

                    • Draw Fasteners

                      Hey Guys,
I am about to start my draw system and I am looking for some type of lockable draw fastener. The commercial systems have large handles which open a spring tongue and can be locked with a key. Is there anything like these in the general hardware stores? Alternatively, what have others done?

                      Thanks.

                      • These Drop-T handles come in either key-lockable or non-lockable format.
I went with the non-lockable as I didn't see the need to lock the drawers inside the vehicle.

Check out these guys .... I got mine from their Perth office

Another great job, I might try the same on the opposite side as the Lab thinks she owns that space.

                          • Thanks to Mumsrig for the inspiration and all the others for different ideas Justo and myself have made a set of draws to suit our individual needs.

Thanks to Justo for his expertise and professional equipment i don't think they came out to bad.
All up the 2 units will owe us about $600.00 in materials

These are my draws Justos will follow after i cover them

Base made up and trial fit. I actually put a 50mm face on the first pic

Top attached with fold up sides

Attached the front by removing the existing tie downs in the car and locating holes in the drawer with 50mm high tensile bolts whilst at the back i used these adjustable tie downs which work a treat. Less than 5mins to remove the whole drawer system.

Draws installed and i found these neat push button latches which we will have to see whether they stand up to the test.

Finished item after many ales and lots of glue fumes.

Stay tuned for Justo`s which are quite different and they look great

I'm curious about the shape Justo picks ... as they probably need to have a built in bean bag for the dog
