Re: Rear Cargo Rack/Barrier- Lifestyle rack
My Lifestyle Rack and fridge mount turned up last week. John was excellent in making sure they arrived from Melbourne with follow up calls to me etc.
Fitted them both during the week.
The fridge mount is specifically designed for an Engel 40 but, I decided to cut off the two tie down points on the front to allow for the slightly longer length of my National Luna Weekender. Just waiting on a mounting bracket from National Luna to install properly. I could just use tie down ratchet straps but may as well do it right.
The Lifestyle rack really is a tight fit up against the cargo barrier, but it fits well. Had to loosen the cargo barrier first to let it all settle into place but is a very well made great piece of gear. I took the spare wheel off the back door to do a test fit inside the vehicle. I plan to buy a second spare and carry it inside the Prado. Fits nicely on top of the rack. Will stand upright and ratchet strap it to the barrier. The roof will be loaded enough with a Foxwing awning, a Thule roof box which contains our Oztent. Also, just enough room up there for a long handle shovel and MaxTrax. That pretty much puts the roof up to the load limit... not to mention the space limit.
When I was installing the Lifestyle rack I was sitting on it to tighten up the cargo barrier. it is very strong. Im a happy customer!
Bought 5 plastic storage boxed from Kmart which fit perfectly underneath. Floor to underside of the rack is 220mm. That is a tight measurement with the rubber floor mat. Will get around to posting some pics soon.
