Main unit mounted ontop of the pass footwell panel (the black one above your foot). Head is mounted below the Ashtray. Remote speaker is mounted up behind the dash on the drivers side.
As above, but main unit goes under passenger side glove box cover,
under where is the space for the aircon filter is located.

Well I bought a Uniden Uniden UH015SX UHF CB Radio with Scanner.
I mounted the head unit under the ashtray but unlike the other ones I mounted the main unit under the dash on the drivers side. We have an auto so no clutch pedal and the unit sits there nicely with the speaker facing the driver.
I have TX 3400 main box mounted under the carpet in passenger front foot well (there is a recess in the firewall that fits it perfectly. Head unit under the ashtray and external speaker under the steering column.
Just to be different again.
I mounted my TX3400 main unit vertically in between the centre console bin liner & the outside skin of the centre console.
I used heavy duty velcro to hold it in position, and threw the mounting brackets supplied over left shoulder.
Drilled an appropriate sized hole in the correct position in the outside skin where the cupholders are to allow clear audio to be emmitted.
The power is easily sourced from the cigarette lighter wiring.
The remote cable for the head unit (mounted under ashtray) reaches no problem.
Eliminates the need for an extension speaker.
Has been working super beaut since installation 2 months ago.
Because everything is black the hole is not easily seen unless you go looking for it, & people can't tell where the sound is coming from.
Some people have mounted the main unit in the centre console bin but this does take up a little of the storage space. For the GME TX3400 it will squeeze out of sight between the plastics.
We use VHF here, and I am yet to find a good spot to mount the radio. Thinking of instaling it right below the stereo, in the space for the not-so-often-used plastic box/tray thingy, but not 100% convinced.
Once I've saved some pennies and addressed the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) I'm going for a TX3400 with the controls mounted in the sunnies tray above the rear view mirror, and the mic down low on the centre console. I'm not sure where they (Northfield car Sound) put the main unit but they've already done a few Grande's so I'll let them get on with it.
There is a 6pin RJ11/12 plug which the mic plugs into, you can use 6 core telephone cable to extend it. Theres a pic of a tx3400 head installed in the sunny's holder on a 100series on lcool groups.
I have a Uniden 090 (27Mhz/UHF combined radio. I fitted a roof console and the radio is mounted in that. Also got a place to store maps etc.
It is finished in the same colour trim as the roof lining and is padded and stiched. Looks like original equipment!!! Only took me about 1 week to stop hitting my head on it when turning around to reverse. Both my wife and I are very happy with it.
