    Looking at the instructions here
    http://www.maxtrax.com.au/mtxrwh

You would have to remove the plastic shroud so that you get a nice grip on the tyre without any plastic in the way. If your tyre is too close to the door, it would be hard to get the straps behind the tyre, similarly with a spare tyre garbage bag.

I have heard that the Maxtrax lugs have worn into the tyre from the vibrations. This was on a roof though where both items are horizontal.

I dare say you will need to remove the plastic shroud to fit these up. Did you receive the detailed installation instructions that usually comes with the Rear Wheel Harness?

      Here's the link https://www.maxtrax.com.au/mtxrwh

Edit: Bet me to it Andrew....

This issue (I think LFAR experienced this or was it snaga?) has been rectified with the rear wheel harness.

When I put my bag onto the wheel I just remove the bottom tow wheel nuts and loosen the top nut of the spare wheel so that the wheel can tilt backwards and this allows enough room for the straps to go between the tire and plastic guard.

After reading the Maxtrax instructions I can not see why it wouldn't be the same.

Best of luck sorting it all out.

            Trial and error mate...
Ive had mine for a couple of months and have been to coorong and mallee etc without issues....no rubbing etc...you may have to do the following....
            1. Remove all plastic and use the frictiin from tyre itself for mounting...
            2. Tention up the strap around the tyre gently...get it all fitting nicely...then back off the tension then twine stitch it together a LOT!!!!...then retention as much as you like...if you do not do this it will sag and if wet tye piss ant crap shit rooted stuffed velcro will pull apart and the whole thing will drop away....I can take photos if needed but this was nutted out over a weekend and a few cold ones to make it absolutely brilliant. ...
