gap on bullbar

Sorry to re-open this discussion, but is there anyone on the forum who feels that having got the Sahara bar they should have gone for the deluxe bar instead ? I am inclined towards the Sahara bar but am wondering whether there are any real life regrets on having got the sahara bar from situations people have found themselves in ?

Hi Siva,
i opted for the Deluxe winch bar, still no winch yet, but after a year now, very happy with it & its standing up to stone chips ok too, i did put some rubber trim around the top edge to soften the gap between the body work. both bars look great but i wanted full front end protection, which the Sahara bar does,nt give.

For me, the deluxe bar does it all, mate.

The equation to weigh up is: The extra protection of the deluxe vs. the look of the Sahara

I went for a Deluxe bar. Looks awesome but I do like the Chrome in the Sahara bar but wouldn't go past the Deluxe bar. I paid $1400 but got a very good price through a friend direct from ARB. They wouldn't move on fitting but the book price should almost never be paid. I would argue with them that being a member of PradoPoint is good enough to be part of a club since this is a 4WD community. Many members organise group trips and also provide positive and negative feedback. Chances are they have heard of PradoPoint so instead of people saying they are not part of a club mention the site and even the user.

That was only the supply price since there were other comments in this thread about price and only focusing on supply. Fitting on top of that $255) but it was still a good price over the normal book. A lot cheaper than book.

My $1800 was colour coded and fitted, so I don't feel so ripped off now...

Well now you've got me curious so I've looked up the invoice and the cost was $1256.82ex for the powder coated bar and $231.82ex for fitting. This works out to about $1638inc. At some point they raised the bars price. I have this feeling it was somewhere around October last year but before December and book price went from $1567 for the Winch bar to $1638.

I'm happy to have had it fitted for the same price as supply.

I like the look of the deluxe winch bar.

Does this bar prevent the fitting of recovery points?

I have noticed a couple of recent posts which indicate that ARB has recommended against fitting recovery points on late model Prados (I have an 11/2008) and I was wondering if anyone who has this bar can comment.
