    Re: Sandgrabba Mats

The sand grabbas are a more than a bit of moulded plastic but not far from it.They are backed with a thin foam to stop em sliding about and probably provide a bit of impact protection, helps justify the expense also. I too baulked when I saw the price ($200 odd complete set, Bris 4x4 Show), checked out what else was on offer and then went back and bought them. They just fit so well, there could be a Toyota sticker on them. They give worry free protection. You know that when they are in that nothing will get on the carpets including up high in the front footwells and the muddy footy boots and spilled strawberry milk in the back will not be a problem.
150 Vx D4D, Deluxe Arb bar, winch, Hayman Reece Towbar, UBP, P3 Tekonsha, 'n stuff.

Ordered mine online, fitted them the other day, and they have already paid for themselves, think molting Husky and going for a drive.
Hair everywhere and to clean only took a wipe with my hand to clean it up.
currently own 77 FJ40 hardtop (head rebuilt, fuel pump about to be replaced) nearly back on the road,
Dune coloured D4D (aka Sandy) in the driveway, lots and lots of goodies to be added

Good to see there is a fellow husky owner on here. (is it a male :P )
I havent tested mine with the dogs in the car yet, but they got a work out yesterday after a day up bush, they did their job by protecting the carpets. But I still cant convince the other half that they were worth the money I paid for them.

              Re: Sandgrabba Mats

I got my Prado just over a year ago and have thrown out the front Toyota mats.

The drivers side mat wore through in record time. I've never had such a poor quality car floor mat.

I won't have that trouble again.

              The Sandgrabba Mats are in.

Why don't Toyota sell them as an accessory?

These Sangrabba Mats are excellent quality and good value for the level of protection they offer.

I'd happily get in the car with muddy boots or sandy feet now.

              Just excellent.

                  Re: Sandgrabba Mats

SandGrabba's should be the first thing to go on in my opinion if you go offroad any and even if you don't you just cannot get past the protection and ease of maintenance they provide.

I think so after this weekend with all the sand in the car after going fishing. Not that he'll ever admit that they were worth the money.

I use the the ones from supercheap, they have big deep sides and catch all of the sand, at $20 bucks a pair great value.

Yep, I've got those too. They don't clip into the footwell and they have to be persuaded a bit to make them fit nicely on the drivers side but I can't complain, they've kept truck loads of kids rubbish (inc. the strawberry milk) and tons of biscuit/bread crumbs from the carpets.

I don't have a problem with them moving around either.

While I'm fine to admit I've not had sandgrabbers (& I'm sure I don't know what I'm missing  ), there's no way I'd spend over $200 on car mats ATM when these are so fantastic.

                                Re: Sandgrabba Mats

Pulled the Sandgrabbas out over the weekend for a good clean. The only real dirt egress onto the carpet was around the edges of the mats, where the mats clip down. And only minimal dust/sand at that. I was a little surprised at how well kept the carpet is underneath the mats. We've given the Prado a pretty good workout over the past six months: three kids and their sports, a trip to the Kimberley's, Oodnadatta Track, Outback SA (including some wet weather/mud), PP GTG in the Red Centre and some other stuff. Only took a bit of vacuuming to clean up the carpet areas on the floor.

Gave the mats a good scrub too - and they've regained their original colour again and look almost as new. 8)
