    Hey Pete,

    Tinted front windows?

Winch, lift kit, lockers, tyres, drawers, snorkel, chip... hehe where does it end? :P

How much is the spray on rust protection costing you? It's not one of those miracle spray jobs that cost a fortune?

Option pack 1 in manual consists of: Front Side Airbags & Curtain Shield Airbags

Last time I heard, the spray on costs under $300, I did forget to add tinted windows to that list. They have been included.

The car will be for me to drive out to a mine site in Central QLD as I will be on 7on 7off. Will be about 2600kms a month. So the die hard Four Wheel driving stuff isn't a must have at the moment...

Agreed!, I just dumped getting the prado genuine mats in favour of the new bushranger mats.
Reconsider the hard spare wheel cover if you are going to a larger off-road tyre, from what I understand it just won't fit.
A snorkle - Not a toyota accessory, but they will fit it for you if you need it on the one invoice. Especially as fitting of the Sovereign bull bar 'exposes' the air intake to increased water ingress.

All depends on what you want to do with the vehicle,

            Hubble80,
I would also Suggest Seat Covers of some sort preferably Canvas like http://www.msaproducts.com.au/home.html or http://www.black-duck.com.au/, Will save the seats from all that Dirt and Dust Not a Genuine Accessory but well worth a try with the boss. Only downside is that I got this Quote from The Toyota Website

"SEAT COVERS - FRONT PAIR - GREY
WARNING! Not compatible with optional Front Side Seat Airbags or
Leather Seats" Bummer! Same goes for the Cargo Barriers too!
            Cheers,

              Thanks for the advice guys,

The main use for this vehicle will be highway use with the occasional family offroad/beach expedition. I like the idea of the rubber mats, I might see if they can get them ncluded as well...

Got my new Prado last October. The drivers floor mat from Toyota is already wearing noticeably.

I'd get either rubber 'deep' type mud catching rubber mats or sandgrabber mats.

Seat covers are a good idea. (I got sheepskin.) Canvas one's are good if you're using the car for work and get grubby. I have to put a towel over the sheepskin when I go wood cutting or digging, or fencing, etc.

I find the side window deflectors (driver and front passenger window) good when it's raining.

Toyotas gps price is a rip off- i didn't bother.

Wish i'd got the hard spare wheel cover.

The rubber cargo mat is great when chucking in tools, chainsaw, drag chain, etc, (or even the shopping).

I also got the insect screen. It works really well with grass hoppers. It shreds them up. What gets through is small and easily washes off the radiator.

I also suggest a good first aid kit for anyone who doesn't have one. Even if its the Toyota one. It's a good start.

You'll enjoy your new car. Guaranteed!

Might be worth asking your company if they will provide a protection pack similar to what I was offered for my lease - Electronic rust protection, paint protection (some spray on gear), and interior spray protection. They guarantee no rust or interior stains for the life of the car - and will fix if it happens. They included free window tinting with this package. Cost about $2000 but is paid off over the lease so not that noticeable.

Order soon and get in line with the rest of us impatient buggers!

I have ordered a lot of accesories from dealer as it is better to have them prior to lease (tax free) and I can pay them off over 5 years. They will even supply things like UHF radios etc.

Not quite sure what you mean about the tax free bit paying them off over 5 years.

Do you mean to pay for some items myself rather than puting them through the lease company??

I was thinking of doing that with some items. Eg, not paying $2 a month for a bonnet protector.

                        Hubble80,

What HAMA means is that since you are paying for the vehicle and any accessories fitted before delivery with pre-tax dallars it is better to load the vehicle up with all the accessories your going to want. The catch is that once the cost of the vehicle exceeds the luxury car tax threshold (about 59K) then you will end up paying the LCT on the accessories. It's a balancing act.

Leachy you explained that better than I could!!

Prados are right up there with Luxury Tax when you include a few goodies - for SA it is $57 125 (ex gst) cut off so Im just OK with my order

The luxury car tax for QLD is now 57009 or something odd. Remembering that this is a lease vehicle, the base price for the D4D GXL Manual is $50718, so the options I want will keep me under the LCT.

So are you saying load the accessories on the lease, or pay for them afterwards?

I only added the tow pack and rear sensors. Although the dealer tried to stooge me and swapped the order to aftermarket rear sensors. Lucky I picked it up before signing. Do the OE sensors disable when you reverse whilst towing?

I didn't get OE mats as I don't like the yellow Prado lettering. Any tips on good quality aftermarket mats, not rubber as I already have a set of those.

I added everything to the lease, even though you pay a bit more due to the leasing you can claim the lot on tax. If you buy the accessories afterwards you can't claim them. I even organised for the dealer to send a cheque to ARB for my bar/snorkel. I'd rather take the vehicle to ARB myself for fitment after I take delivery.
