  • 4wdsupacentre 3" Exhausts by Berklee

I noticed that 4wdsuperstore/4wdaction/tigerzroo11/whoever they want to call themselves now are having a 50% off on their domin8r 3" stainless exhaust kits ($750)
Has anyone had any experience with these setups? I see the general consensus on this site is to go 2.75" but these look like a half-decent unit although I am wary of this mob given their chinese heritage. These however are made in oz by Berklee exhausts.

    Opinions?

Nice. The CAT in the photo is only a Euro III cat. The engine is Euro IV. Might get picked up in an inspection.

          hey guys,
I put one on my D4D there about 3 weeks ago. Got the S/S version (not that it really matters lol) but the thing that I have noticed is that it is significantly mroe responsive, has a nicer throaty sound with a little bit of whistle... I havent noticed fuel economy yet because i have been going harder to get that sound haha

They've got their "half price sale" back on, but that's their normal permanent "sale" price. They must think we're a bunch of women in a shoe shop.

                  Scales,
The hardest part was taking the old exhaust off! those stud nuts are really tight on the turbo... I used plenty of WD40, 6 point spanner, and a big hammer to eventually crack them as I really didn't want to take the whole turbo manifold off! You also need to take off the rear tank straps to help get everything in and out... would pay to buy some new ones and use copper grease on them just to stop them from seizing.

I had to use "thor" (the hammer) to adjust a few mounts on the back half of the exhaust downwards, as the first fitment hit on the rear cross member on startup, but nothing too crazy!

Probably took me about 2 and a half hours to remove the old and 40 minutes to put the new one in (on my own)...

nearly bought my self one a couple of months ago, but it wouldn't take my credit card, but just lashed out today and ordered a genie legendex system. The build looks alot better and id rather pay for quality and be happy then get the cheaper system and wonder should i have got the better one....

                    time will tell i guess..

                    Cheers Joel

Keen to see how your new exhaust goes over time. I'm thinking this one of the mods I would like to do but just not sure on the quality and performance although your comments are promising. Time will tell I guess.

Are you on the south side of town? Love to have a look at one fitted up.

Brought my S-S Berklee from the Burleigh 4WD SuperCentre and it was delivered yesterday @$740 too good to wait!!. Was going to get the old girl dyno'd before/then after/then a chip from Chip-torque Nerang/ but happy just to put it on now as it was going to cost $250 extra - just to dyno it! - then $1990 for the chip setup??
SS system goes on tomorrow... will report in - hope it makes a difference - our truck is in good nick 196K and still great motor and Injectors good readings - and we leave for the Big Red bash with two FJ Cruisers next friday for two weeks - might be a bit fresh!!
Towing a Travelander Geo and really looking to see how the truck performs! Methinks the exhaust should allow it to breath a little better??

fitted my Berkley SS 3" exhaust last night
2hrs to get it off ( 25min for the exhaust 1-1/2 hrs to fiddle with the dump pipe working out what sockets, extension etc )

30min fitted the new one easy on the hoist
not that happy with the size of the bolt holes verses the size of the bolts & washers, but in the end all went well

found better take off response, and acceleration and now feel like i need less pedal to keep it cruising

                              Thats what I found too...
Also just because something is cheaper doesnt necessarily mean its worse quality... in some cases it means that you just arent paying for a brand name
