Bonnet Protector & Grill Mesh Screen Replacement Clips

hi all,

has anyone ordered replacement clips for the bonnet protector and the grill mesh screen? I lost some clips taking the protector off for cleaning and at the same time noticed the plastic clips for the grill mesh screen (Toyota Accessory) is fatigued and brittle.

If they're economical I'll just pick some up instead of knocking something up.

Last time I checked as I had the same issue as you the clips only came as a complete unit with the grill mesh.

I ended up fabbing up some clips with thin strips of stainless I had laying around and it has been ok since.

If you didn't want to make them yourself, try typing "Screw Clip" into an eBay search.

There are various steel clips which I imagine could easily be bent into shape for what you're trying to do.

I've used clips like these to Macgyver up things myself. I've not used them to replace the grille clips, but imagine they might work reasonably well? There are heaps of styles and sizes to pick from. (I have the grille mesh, so I know the clips you're talking about.)
