Thinking about getting some recovery points for the front, is there much difference between them? Are the smaller ones easier to fit and as good? a google search came up with these

Hey spudkopf, did the roadsafe 150 recovery points bolt straight on without chassis modification (spacer excluded)??

        Cheers

Sorry to dig this thread out of a grave. Just bought some Roadsafe recovery points to suit Prado 150. To install them on my 120 (05 GXL with Sovereign BB), how did you bolt it to the rear hole? They come with those tabs with nuts on them. Thanks

So, just in case anyone is looking at this thread in the future. Fitted the Roadsafe recovery points (made for 150) to my 2005 GXL with Sovereign bar. All in all, went pretty easily.

The passenger side went on easily .

Unbolt the bull bar bracket from the chassis (19mm)
Fit the new bolt with the old washer and a new spring washer through the front mounting hole of the RP and the bull bar bracket and tighten.

To do the rear mounting hole, feed the nut on the wire (provided by Roadsafe) through the square hole in the chassis rail (a bit further towards the back of the car) (marked in red), until it can be seen through the wide round hole in the rail (marked in blue).

Add a high tensile washer (approx 4-5mm) between the RP bracket and the chassis rail as a spacer, and feed the new bolt with a new washer and spring washer through the RP, spacer washer and tighten it into the nut on the wire.

On the drivers side, everything was the same except

Have to trim the inner mudguard that's protecting the washer bottle to allow the RP to fit between it and the chassis rail (marked as trim)
Removing the mudguard part is pretty simple. Remove the plastic rivet connecting it to the inner mudguard (1), pull the bottom of the mudguard piece down a bit to remove it from the bottom washer bottle nipple (3), undo the 10mm bolt near the top (2), then just push it up until it comes off the plastic bottle tab (the white part) (4)

The nut on the wire is a bit awkward to reach the wide round hole where the bolt will eventually go into. Can't really help with this one. Takes a bit (a lot) of swearing, straightening of the wire a bit so it has a longer reach, to be able to line it up with the hole.

Fit the RP before fitting back the mudguard piece. Might have to pull the washer bottle tab down a bit, so you can hang the mudguard over it.

                    Hi amts,

Are you still selling the recovery points for the 120 Prado?

                    Many thanks
