      also have a look here

      https://www.installdr.com/harnesses/toyota-wiring.asp

take note of 1987 and newer and "typical Toyota dash wire colour"

The speaker wires listed in the above are accurate

        Trinedy,

What connections did you use to connect to the standard reversing camera, if I know this I can figure out how to add the other camera.
        Thanks Texasbh

I don't have a camera installed yet mate however i would connected it as follows.

1: Power for the camera off the reverse light loom, negative somewhere on the car or to the white wire in the towbar loom.
2: run the signal cable up the drivers side and plug the RCA connection into the rca attached to the H/U
          3: Enjoy.

During the connecting process of the large connector plug I noticed a single BLUE coloured lead, it was about 5mm in diameter with a MALE connection at the end it has a tag that reads "ANT". I believe this is the antenna power cable ( correct or not??)

(if it is)Where & how should this be connected,

              Regards texasbh

You don't need it mate, prado has the antenna in the passenger rear (boot) window as long as you plug the large black lead in you will have radio cheers

Trinedy are you saying that you have not used the single blue wire marked ANT and that your radio reception is good??

My radio reception is crap for both FM /AM, also the digital reception is very weak around the suburbs of Melbourne. When I drive in the country I cannot get any stations at all.

Yes I have plugged the large antenna plug into the radio & I have double checked to make sure its fully connected.

When I removed the old radio, I also noticed a smaller radio antenna which was not plugged into the original radio ??? not sure what/how it was being used.

                  Regards Texasbh

Attach it to the other 'ANT' plug.

On the ISO harness there is the 'ANT' wire that goes to the powered Prado Antenna.
The other end is on the RCA Speaker set of wires, its a pain as if your not using the rest of them they just take up a lot of space behind the stereo, tape them up separately if you don't want any feedback.

Took me a while to find this one out!

you are a champion, it was exactly as you indicated, great sound and reception.

Now All I have to do is work out what to do with the digital radio, the supplied antenna is crap. It only get good reception when I apply pressure by pressing the Antenna against the wind screen, it only while I hold the antenna that I get a full reception on the graph indicator on the screen.

Thanks again to both Trinedy and Nardoth

                          Cheers Texasbh

Spotted this "XTRONS Pro" 2 DIN on fleabay claims to integrate with Toyota Prado 1996-2009.
Built-in GPS to take Google maps of Android Playstore (HEMA Maps??) all the other bells & whistles.
Also mentions reversing camera integrates with reverse selection & OBD2 data via optional OBD2 plug unit.

Just wondering how much ECU data will be compatible?

                            Anyone tried this unit?

Any luck with the Joying units

                              Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has gone with any of the joying head units and what their thoughts are on them. I have a 2008 gxl and was looking at a upgrade head unit. The ones I have been looking at were the JY-TN123 for $219.99 4.4.4Kitkat or the JY-TL123 $303.99 5.1.1Lollipop both are from the Chinese warehouse. I like the fact you can play a dvd or cd in them and I'm interested in using the OBD2 functions with the Tourqe app. Can the wiring that is existing to the back of the car (for rear camera) be used with a aftermarket reverse camera, or would I need to buy a Toyota reverse camera? Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
                              Thanks Benny.
