      Stevo,

while I was there, they were 4x4 specialists

But I havent been there since 1st june 08.

And My Brother starts here next week 8)

I supplied them with the alloy fairlead and rope, to cure your problem, but the RRP should of been $395 for both, as thats what I charge for them here as a set, unless they charged extra for something else as well ?

Did they not at least ring and confirm the extra cost first ?

        Hi Darren
In all fairness they did call me and I was told it was an extra $450.00,
My only concern is that other members have fitted the Tmax to the Toyota bull bar without too many problems and the manager said it would definately not fit, don't get me wrong, the plasma rope is ok, I'm just annoyed that I had to find a unexpected $450.00
        thanks for your help

          Hi all,

Does anyone know if the 10,000 lb tmax will fit into the sovereign bar or not, it is slighlt shorter but wider than the 9000lb and if this winch is to big(power wise) for the prado?

Alternatively, is the tmax 9000lb or the ironman 9500Lb a better option?

I don't do any heavy offroad work but more of an insurance policy when traveling alone with the family.

          thanks

Re: Tmax winch and Toyota Sovereign bullbars

I have just bought a 9000lb Tmax & Toyota Cradle, but have not had it fitted as yet. Can anyone please advise
                - Does the Soverign Bullbar need to be removed to fit a Tmax Winch?
                - A recommendation of someone in the Sydney area to fit the winch.

                Thanks

Re: Tmax winch and Toyota Sovereign bullbars

                  Hi Noel,

Yes, the bar does need to be removed. If your handy with the spanners then you can do it your self with the help of a mate or 2. It will take 4 - 6 hours. The hard part will be to refit the bar with the winch and cradle assembled and lining it all up as it is very heavy. (hence the mate or 2/3/4).

You will also need to get longer bolts for mounting the winch through the cradle and bar, and also grind the fair lead a little to fit in. Its not a hard job to do and with the instructions that are on line here in pradopoint you can do it easily. In regards to recommending someone to fit for you hopefully one of the local PP's can do.

                  Cheers

Re: Tmax winch and Toyota Sovereign bullbars

Thanks for all the advice re fitting a Tmax. I eventually did it myself, with the help of a few friends as suggested. Ths hardest bit was fitting the fairlead which took quite a bit of grinding to get it to fit. I still have the vertical rollers to put in s there is just not the room to get the circlip tool on the available space. Any hints at how to get the circlips on would be appreciated.

Re: Tmax winch and Toyota Sovereign bullbars

                      Hi Noel,

I had to bend the tips of the circlip pliers to fit this in. Had to be very careful not to break the tip when doing it. It was a bugger to do. I will see if I have the pliers still bent and if so I will get a pic for you.

                      Cheers

Re: Tmax winch and Toyota Sovereign bullbars

Can anyone please advise where they installed the Tmax solenoid? The two methods suggested by the Tmax instructions don't work because the Soverign stabiliser bars are in the way. There are two holes on the winch cradle but two small screws don't seem very secure.
