The colour coded paint-job and powedr coating is crap, the rubber 'buffers' don't sit flush, which means sand, dirt and water will get into the gaps and will eventually rust and corrode the bar.

One of my foggies, which were fitted at the same time, konked out in no time and this morning that was put down to a crap installation job.

Had I known what I know now I would NEVER get an ARB bar.

Oh, and the service was full-on blase, couldn't-care-less attitude.

I will take this whole sorry fiasco up with ARB head office, but at this rate I'm not expecting much. The last dollars I spent at ARB.
Let me guess, this work was performed by Southern ARB in Dandenong?
Correct my good man, correct indeed...

The guy couldn't wait for me to walk out the door. I've got a few grand kicking around, waithing to be spent on the Prado, but he couldn't have been less interested if he'd tried. Not a problem on my part - I'll go and spend it elsewhere. Sigh...
They are the cheapest for a reason...

yota, better know as glen, has this. A non flare bar on a GXL, and it's not too obvious.
it's all about how you finish or distract from it.
PM me if you want more details or info
Unfortunately I was busy yesterday when it finished, was planning to do exactly that, buy it and look at modding it to match the flares.

Went for just over $100, good buying especially if you have a GX

thanks for the info, i am flipping the coin on the Toyota bar and the arb, i can get a new toyota bar for $1000 but i do like the look of the arb one better and also the approach angle is better, i was thinking about painting it myself to get a tougher finish but now you got me thinking about the rubber buffers also making the toyota bar more attractive as well as the price

intens - No worries mate. How I wish I could sing its praises, but that just ain't the case.

I shelled out $2,150,- with fitting, colour coding and foggies. A fait bit of mullah for a lump of spray painted steel and figured to myself that with ARB logo on it it would be the best. It sure is the most expensive...

In hindsight I should've gone with ECB or TJM, but too damn late now.

Good luck with whichever desicion you go with!

I went an Ironman winch bar for my 06 GX ltd (with the flared guards) and the service from their Clayton head office was great. When I went back a couple of months after having it fitted - was a bit concerned about the potential for damage as the washer bottle etc was a bit exposed - the sales manager got me a couple of alloy shrouds to fit either side under the bar and an alloy plate to go on directly underneath the bar and protect stones etc coming up & hitting the radiator. Unfortunately, 18 months in there are a couple of minor surface rust spots on it now - nothing too much to worry about, but disappointing nonetheless. I paid $1350 fitted.
Wherever you go..there you are, it's just more comfortable getting there in the Prado....

Nowhere near as funny as paying well over $2K for ARB bar and foggies and ending up with a pile of shite... That's just downright hilarious.

My desicion to buy a bullbar was based on practicality and safety rather than looks, but each to their own I suppose. Sigh...

Deeptank, IMHO you got the wrong mob for the job. Maybe look for another store or get the HO to carry out the mods. In Syd, the ARB state office does mods along with the franchises.

I think ECB and Ironman are alloy bars NOT steel.
                  Cheers,
