I've just been having a close look at my mates Strongarm Rear Bar and have noticed there is practically no clearance between the bar and the body. I've also noticed this on other photo's I've seen of rear bars (outback accessories one especially). Given the rear bar is mounted to the chassis and the body is rubber mounted why isn't this a problem. According to ARB you need 25mm clearance at the front between the body and Bull bar so that they don't hit. The Prado is roughly the same width at the back as it is at the front so unless the whole body twists by 25mm you should need the same clearance shouldn't you? Unless of course the whole "it's the body moving not the bar" is just ARB marketing speak for "actually it's a crap design and yes the bar does move", as has been suggested elsewhere.

The front does flex a lot. Try it out for yourself. Park the vehicle on an angle on a side slope and you will see the difference in clearance from drivers to passanger side at the front bar.

I'll keep an eye out in it- but it could also have something to do with the way it's mounted, or maybe the rear is more rigid than the front.. Haven't noticed it before when flexing though.2004 Prado GXL. v6 auto, ARB deluxe bar, exhaust, 2" EFS lift kit, Outback Acc rear bar,

OK so as soon as someone buys me the bar, and I fit it up, Treckrider is coming over to my house to test it out.It was my question so I get to do the test
