cheers, ill try and get some better pics this weekend, my photos i took when i was doing it didnt turn out the best as i did it in an evening and being a black bonnet its hard to see some of the detail.
i would definitely recommend doing it, all i had to pay for was the scoop, a new bit for the jigsaw and some paint (which i did myself), but otherwise it was more the time that i had to invest in painting and polishing to get it right.
i also made sure to paint all cut surfaces; i used a mixture of killrust and penetrol to inhibit any potential rust issues

The black looks tough as nuts, especially with those rims.

I was sitting in my boys school car park waiting for him to come out today and noticed the amount of heat coming out of the scoop. The sun just happened to be in the right spot and we were parked in the right direction to be able to see the heatwaves coming out. We were parked for over 20mins and I actually got out of the car and popped the bonnet to make sure that something wasn't wrong as the amount of heat escaping was literally unbelievable. Even Tammy thought it might have been smoke at one point... Just goes to show how much difference it must make when your driving with cool air coming in to the bay and through the intercooler if that much escapes whilst just sitting with the donk switched off.

There was a question asking if there was any noticeable difference asked earlier in the thread... I can't say that I have noticed any power gain or cooler engine temps etc.. Mind you I don't/can't run a Scan Gauge so can't really comment on intake temps etc.. It's certainly offers more piece of mind whilst towing as we saw 45deg plus days when we did our trip earlier this year.. oh and it looks PORN!!

Yeah I always reckon any improvement in power or economy, real or imagined is just a bonus, they look hot and that's enough. These new ones look even better than the old style like mine.

                    Cheers Andrew

Who did you get to put your scoop on Mitch?

I think I read somewhere you had it done in Perth? Can't remember where though - PP is just getting too big these days!

Go on, grab the angle grinder. Tape her up, measure twice and cut a hole in that baby. I did. Just got the panel beater to paint the scoop at the same time they took out my Mundaring power line scrape from the left fender.
