Hi,
I'm planning to modify my TJM bash plate to make the hold under the sump slightly larger so I can drain the sump without making a mess on the engine side of the bash plate. I also want to retro fit a cover over the enlarged sump access hole by drilling 4 holes, welding nuts to the bash plate and cutting a cover out of steel.
What type of steel do I need to use? The local metal supplier has 3mm steel plate and 3mm rolled sheet steel.
Thanks,
