I tackled this 'mod' today. I ended up cleaning the rubber as per above and packing the centre groove with Castrol Red Rubber Grease. Then I installed the door rubber and sealed all around the outside lip of the seal with windscreen sealant. That should fix it

Hi Grim I used the cleaner as in previous picture BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMEND IT. The rubber is fine but it did make it crinkle up at first and I did think I had stuffed it but is fine. To be on the safe side I would try soapy water but I think you may need some thing stronger to remove the grease/sealant or what ever crap they put on there from the factory......Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. Hi guys,
I started with degreaser to get all the heavy crap off then thought it might be a bit harsh on the rubber if left on for to long so washed that off with warm soapy water . Using a pastry scraper like Steve M used is the go as you need to get in and under to clean the seal without damaging the rubber.

So did anyone successfully (or otherwise) press a warranty claim against Toyota? How long did it take to get an answer?
I'm currently going through the process (for my 150) but it seems to be taking an inordinately long period of time for Toyota Aust to process it/come back to the dealer with an answer.

Rust in the rear door seam
I've got rust inside the seam where the rubber seal sits.
It's on the main body of the car where the back door closes onto.
Is this a common problem?? And what's the best way of fixing it??
Pics to come later when I get a chance

I bought a new rear door seal from Amayama and it already came pre-greased in the seal. I then applied sikaflex around the door seal to prevent any future water ingress into the seal. If you look near the top corners of the body, there are panels that overlap each other and the door seal doesn't work in those areas. This is where water gets in and works its way down.
