    plz help with the brake size & brand

    i want a good upgrade from the crappy oem pads. i want ceramic pads and i am going to change the rotors to DBA 4000 series(standard, slotted or cross drilled/slotted gold) and want the opinion of someone who used them and are they ceramic or no.
    give me a good combination plz?
    and if there are other options for the rotors they are welcomed
    i'm in saudi arabia
    and what size are they
    My car is 2009 prado vx 17inch rims

    Any particular reason you specifically want ceramic pads? Ceramic is clean and noise free but dosn't necessarily stop as well as a semi-metallic compound.

        as long as they are better than oem it's fine with me
        but ceramic make less noise and dust and more gentle on the rotors and don't get hot very easily

          I have fitted the DBA slotted rotors and Bendix pads front and rear (standard rear rotors skimmed). Very happy with how the whole thing works, much better than standard. You can google DBA and find the appropriate rotor. I would have simply gone for the slotted rotors but at the time none were available and the slotted/drilled rotors were sold to me for the same price.

          Be aware that not everyone is happy with the Bendix pads but as per the discussion below I don't have any issues.

            Hi there,
            DBA slotted rotors work perfectly with Bendix 4WD brakes, you need to know that the brake pads will give you good performance after being hot. When cold the grip is not the best.

            I am using Lucas 4WD pads, they are perfect at any time, and the main issue is the black dust on the rims. If you can deal with it you will be fine.

                I have just fitted a set of DBA Street Series Rotors (DBA2700SL/R) with Bendix Heavy Duty pads (not the 4wd pads) and they are a noticeable improvement over standard and perform just fine from cold.

                    Hi,
                    I run DBA42700SL Front and DBA4793SL rear with Ferodo Thermo Quite (Ceramic) pads,,, DB1482 fronts and DB1200 rear .. The stopping power is 100% on standard, this is the second set of these pads initially ran them on standard rotors for 95,000km and was very impressed. When I upgraded to the DBA rotors last year I was disappointed I was unable to get a new set of the same pad so ran Ferodo 4WD pads in place and these were no better than standard and a waste on the DBA rotors.
                    I have since got a new set of TQ's and with the DBA rotors and TQ pads it’s a dramatic improvement.
                    My only complaint is slight squeal on gentle to firm braking, but I am more than willing to have this for the braking response.

                      well , i finally installed my DBA rotors, just reliazed that i posted earlier on may 2011 that they should arrive in Auguest , but they arrived in late October , and i just didn't fit them , don't ask why.
                      i ordered the drilled slotted ones , used Toyota original pads
                      Rront # DBA 42700XS
                      Rear # DBA 4793XS

                      was impressed by the diffrence , don't know was it due to the fact that DBA are better ,or my original rotrs needed to be replaced.

                            The rotors look good but DBA doesn't recommend them for heavy duty use.
