  • Low dust pads

    Hi there,

Need to replace the front brake pads on our 2003 120 series soon. The current pads were on the vehicle when we bought so not sure if they are Toyota but they leave a lot of dark dust on the rims. Hoping someone may be able to recommend a brake pad that performs well and does not make a lot of dust?

    Cheers

    Dave

Get the originals, got 180,000 klms from mine and only needed pads changed as disks were ok and didn't need skimming either. No dust to worry about either.

Like Ghost I only ever use Bendix in any car not just 4wd. Toyota pads are shocking for dust, always black crap on the alloys, with bendix you will notice better braking especially when things heat up, and better pedal feel plus again less dust....Id wack in some slotted rotors as well if you can afford it, this will also make a noticeable difference.....Cheers Steve

Thanks for the advice. Although the Toyota ones have lasted well, going to give Bendix a try, hoping to reduce dust and get the same performance.

Dust problem must be a year model thing as my 2003 diesel never suffered brake dust on the rims over 180,000 k's.

I use QFM HPX pads on my Subaru and they will be going into the Prado when it's time to upgrade.

They are fairly low dust, have lasted me quite a while and perform really really well. They are excellent considering their price, $79.

I got mine through GSL Rallysport. They're also competitively priced for DBA rotors too
